I was sitting in Lower dinner that morning when the Bro Potzger the German member of the GB at that time who has since passed made the anoucnement to the bethel family

i recall his comments like they were yesterday'

"This is to inform the bethel family that Leo Greenless is no longer a member of the bethel family and THE MATTER IS CLOSED"

NOW IF there are any bethlites who were there that morning i'm sure they too can comment on the spirit that sweep thru the dining rooms that AM

after the prayer and on the way to work it was sorta of a sick feeling for no one really wanted to ask or say anything about it

so during the day no one one would really ask the question that was on the minds of everyone:

"What in the Hell happened" looking back now i can see clearly why

the fear that jw live under is much like that in all congo when someone is kicked out

no one wants to aske the ovious question

Do you appreciate the Watchtower Magazine?

dont you know that there is no more important magazine on the earth today then the watchtower magazine?.

as we know it is in that very magazine jehovah makes his official notifications to mankind.

since jehovah apparently isnt at all interested in reaching all of mankind he isnt using tv or radio.

I recall the back cover of an Awake mag that was used to death by our Circuit Overseer when I was young.

It was a comment made by someone who had read the mags-- it went something like this:

"By reading the mag one would would be able to get the same education as a 4 yrs degree"

so since all we had to do was read the mags - why go to college-- you could get the same thing-- WRONG

according to the bible, jehovah himself "raised up" resisters.

of the corrupt rulership of the elderly king, solomon.. --- you can read about it at 1kings 11:14,23-39.. the term apostasy comes from "to stand away from, rebellion",.

so "resister" can easily act as a synonym for apostate, here.. also, jehovah created dis-unity among israel by deliberately.

Witness Kids and Disfellowshipped Parents

i thought i'd share my own experience on the subject (sorry it gets a little long winded!

) and ask how having to shun relatives as a kid affected anyone else here.. disfellowshipping (and disassociation) have been part of my life for as long as i can remember.

when i was six or seven, my dad, after opposing my mother's becoming a witness for several years, had a whirlwind flirtation with the organization and got baptized (as my mom put it, he was so disappointed that nothing special happened when he got baptized that he left the assembly at the lunch break).

Update on elders visit.......

well as a few here know, and for those who dont i've had an ongoing study with a few of the elders from my wifes congregation.. i was quite suprised when one of the elders, i think the less experienced one asked the following question of me.. what is your purpose for getting together for this study, as it seems obvious to me that your not willing to be open minded concerning what we have to share with you today?.

i responded that his question really hurt my feelings, and that he shouldnt assume that i wasnt open to what they had to share, simply because i checked everything they shared with scripture.. i pointed out that the bereans did the same when paul preached.

i went on to explain that his statement made me feel as if it wasnt about my salvation that they were concerned about, but getting me to become a member of the orginization.. needless to say the older of the two stepped in and tried to dance his way out of this uncomfortable situation, by putting me at ease and trying to reassure me that my salvation was the subject, and not membership in the society.. they seemed to become uncomfortable everytime i used the word society, this i couldnt understand.
