The sad thing is that there are "brothers" who take the WTBS seriously when it comes to a woman's "place". I know that my father-in-law is like that with his wife. She never questions anything that the Society gives about "sisters" in the congo. He tried to tell my husband that he should tell me what to do and so and so, etc. My hubby knows better than that or we'll have a "situation". Our respect for each other goes for all areas of our marriage. It is 50/50. He would rather me to take charge of some things anyway because he is a "mild mannered person".

After Reinstatement

but i know that once it happens, good friends are crushed and desperately want that person reinstated.
when they are reinstated, there is a lot of (quiet) celebration.

I recall a friend that was disfellowshipped for quite a while and she got reinstated about 4 years later. Things were never the same for her and she developed a hatred for witnesses. While she was disfelloshipped, "friends" gossiped about her situation and just made the situation worse. She attended the meetings for a while after her reinstatement and then she dropped off the face of the earth. The pressure became too much for her and she said to me "the hell with those mutha*******".

Why are sisters the backbone of the organization and yet slaves to their husbands, males, etc.? There are more females in the Borg, but we get treated like we have no say in anything. That's why I married my husband who does not give a **** about the religion.

I had to lock the door today. When I did that, I saw two large paws under the bathroom door trying to lift the door open. I just had to laugh at that cuz cats are clever. Dangit! There is no tissue in the bathroom again.

Are you a fader, Df'd, DA'd, or Still In?
by brotherdan ini thought this would be an interesting poll that would show everyone the backgrounds of all of us when we left, if we have.. for myself, i am not df'd, but i am attempting a fade.
i still go to some meetings with the wife to help with kids, but that's it.
no commenting or field service.. what about everyone else?.

Started fading within the last 2 years. I felt guilty and went back to the meetings because the "friends" said that they "missed me". I'm not with the male dominace of the Borg or the shunning of others when they no longer want to be a witness. All of the flaws I that I observed just made me sick of the whole thing. The icing on the cake was the fact that my very judgmental, holier than thou, arrogant, know it all, ignorant, lying, and self-gratifying brother-in-law (elder) cheated on my sister. My sister is the only one left on my side of the family that is a witness. I have in-laws who will never leave, so they are a lost cause. My husband was raised in the truth, but will never we a witness because of the things he has seen and heard since his father was also an elder. Being a very private person, I don't think that it's anyone's business whether I disassociate myself of get disfellowshiped. I will never discuss my business with any elders or bro/sis(s) in the congregation. I no longer attend meetings (was forced to go for one month while living with in-laws). I have moved to a new state so I feel relatively free to live as I choose. Will not attend the Memorial, go out in field service, go to the Convention this year either. Matter of fact, I have not gone to a District convention since 2007.

Was having an intimate moment with the toilet and the black cat came up to me and jumped in my lap again. She looked up at me and turned way and got real comfortable. Dang, this cat does not give me any privacy at all. I guess I'm just there just to serve her and like it. Now, where did I put the tissue..........Damn cat!

What I heard was that all of these weird weather conditions were proof that we were in the last days. The recent snow, the heatwaves, the changes in areas that either was hot or cool experienced weather that was not normal. The tsumami's, the brown-outs, etc., have given them the reason to rejoice more than usual.
