If they got in financial hardships, you can bet the WT will not offer any financial help. They'll tell you to pray to Jah on the matter. And the bad thing about it is that so many people I know have suffered from this very thing.

Faders shunned now?

hi all so my family had their c.a.

last weekend and my mother dropped this one on me, she'll now be treating me as a df'd person per info she received from a talk at the assembly.

apparently a fader should be treated as "bad association" given the fact they up and left the holy "truth" to splash around in vomit.. .

My life is none of their business. I don't owe anyone any explanation as to why I don't attend meetings/assemblies/conventions and not going out in field service. None of them pay any of my bills or take any real personal interest in me as a person. I set my own ground rules and have NEVER been intimidated by ANY if them. They can only push your buttons if you allow them to. Don't give them the satisfaction.

Shunning for inactive ones?

i visited my sister in a small town in the midst of the country, the town has a population of 3,000 and there's about 70 in the cong.

anyway, there was a local needs talk a few months ago about associating with family members who didn't live under your roof and no longer went to meetings.

one family of an elder dad and three sons (one an elder too, the others have stopped going) and a daughter (still going but married a 'worldly') are quite prominent and one half of a typical congregational feud.

This is BS. There are so many members who go out who are unable to do so because of health issues, etc. I thought that religion was for those who want to serve god because they want to and not by mandating that you do so. I have always had an independent streak and would always ask questions. Because of that, I've been labled the bitch, the shit starter, trouble, you name it and YES, I'll take that label and wear it proudly. I called an CBO a liar to his face, asked said CBO why this brother was standing outside of the womens restroom to look at the young girls, and why was it okay for a brother to have all of the responsibilities of leading when sisters did not qualify when most of them I knew were qualified for teaching. I told him that I was seeking higher education and he walked away, shaking his head. What a little, bittie, short man, who despised me! Mission Accomplished!!!

It's been almost 3 years since this original post and my sister is still with this asshole. We have not had any communication since early last year when she asked me if I believed in the Governing Body as Jehovah God's representatives. I said "NO", and YOU know it too! I had not heard from her since March2012. I recently got a text from out of the blue from my sister. It was from an unknown number asking if I was M...... I verified the information with this person. I stated that I would be in the area -June 2013- and if I we could meet when I came to town. I gave her the time and date of my visit and all was well. After talking about old times and getting over the pleasentaries, all of the sudden she tells me that she was going to be out of town when I planned to visit the state of Michigan. I feel that this "trip" came out of the blue and It was all a bunch of bullshit. It had been 2 years since I saw her and our high school would have been two weeks later. The WTBS has ruined so many lives and families like mine and others. I have been the one to shun her and other family members that I no longer tolerate with that BS. What's funny is the fact that they have problems with me not visiting them and spending family time with them. I get invitations to events all of the time, to no avail. Why is it so hard for JW's to accept when they shun others, that it would never happen with them. My in-laws obviously think that just because I don't attend the meetings, that I should be grateful that I should be honored to be in their presence. GTFOOHWTBS.

i didn't know eric particularly well, and i feel terrible that i didn't reach out to him more or try to help him while i still had the opportunity.. i feel extremely helpless, but the least i can do is help others remember him who knew him better.. here is a video i've uploaded to youtube in his honor.... .

SAD news about OOMPA......

our friend, oompa, has passed away.

just recieved the news a couple of hours ago, and have almost no details.

it happened today or yesterday, he took his own life.

I just don't know what to say. I don't post often, but I read a lot of posts regarding our dear "Oompa". I am so sad. Matter of fact as I write this, I am in tears. I know what is like to be shunned from friends and family (I am inactive, not disfellowshipped). The difference is that I could care less. I have felt what Oompa felt and I almost took made the same decision. It took a lot of self searching and long talks with friends that cared and I'm not ashamed to admit that I got help for it. I am beyond angry that he felt that his family and so called friends (those loving JW's and especially those super fine "brothers") treated him so callously. That is not what true Christians do. Jesus showed love to everyone and they are not following of his fine examples. Thanks for trying to help our fine brother whose pain is no more.
