A wonderful reminder of where we came from. It's so good to be free from the chains of Watchtower Corp.

It's wonderful that they had each other for so long. It's a lovely story and very heart warming.

Who really is to blame for the marriage breakdowns?
by Quarterback inanother young couple has bit the dust, in our congregation.
that's close to 20.. we'll probably hear a special needs talk, and of course the couple will be counselled to get back together, and they are not scripturally free to marry.. comments will be made that it's is the fault of the younger ones, today.
apparently younger ones are selfish, but, are they?.

I was listening to Pat Robertson, and apparently, gays and gay marriage are to blame for anything and everything bad that happens at the moment. That's got to be it. Right?

Do NOT get baptised. Save yourself and your family a lot of grief by NOT doing it. Who cares if the person studying with you will feel that time was wasted. They are counting their time with you, giving them brownie points. They benefit from "your arrangement" far more than you ever will.
As far as the goals, simply decline to accept those as your goals. State clearly that you do not feel that his goals for you are your goals. You want to take your time to read and study. This isn't something you take lightly and will not be rushed based on someone else's idea of an appropriate timeline. Say thanks, but no thanks. A study is fine for now, but no other goals, please.
And regardless of goals or no goals, just don't get dunked. Period. You are surely able to stall for time. And if everyone is pushing hard, when you have conversations with the elders, you can state this isn't what you feel is appropriate for now, and you feel that others are forcing you into this. Put it back on them.
Finally, even if someone has driven you to the assembly and escorted you in, don't get in the damn pool.
Stay dry,
Lav

JWs AT YOUR DOOR - A Sample Dialogue
by Vanderhoven7 inafter listing to their message.
thank you for sharing, but i must say that it seems to me that much of your religion is not in harmony with the bible..
well for example, many of your organization's policies and practices related to baptism are not in keeping with the example set by the apostles..

Looks interesting. I wonder why 2034 figures so large on the cover design, though? I understand where 2034 comes from and why it's of interest here but I don't think most JWs are thinking of 2034 as especially significant. I understand where in the literature the groundwork for this has been set up (120 years from 1914) but I think most JWs who see this cover would immediately think 2034 is NOT being held out as a date of signficance. Hmmm...

Do you ever look back and cringe...
by laverite indo you ever look back and cringe thinking of things you said or how you acted in the door-to-door ministry?.
i recently had two jws at my door and posted about that here: http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/210246/1/jws-at-my-door.
they were gracious and polite.

Muddy W! Wow, what a story! I love the reaction: " "Oh my god, get out off here! Get away from us!" That must have startled you a bit. I mean, with a reaction like that, it would make most people stop and wonder what they had said to merit such a reaction. Sadly, there are many JWs who would just put it down to the wickedness of "Worldly TM " people.

100% pure unadulterated speculation - what changes would a "New New World Tranlsation" contain?
by sir82 inon this thread:.
http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/beliefs/257481/1/i-cant-find-any-bibles-seems-to-be-a-shortage.
some (well, me, mostly) are speculating that the wts is planning to distribute a "new new world translation" some time soon.. if that is true, what changes do you think they would include?.

The following change will appear in the newest edition:
Psalms 83: 18
That people may know that you, whose name is Jehovah, You alone are the Most High over all the earth.
Be it further known that they, who are Governing Body Members Are the Most High on the Earth, as personal Representatives
of the Almighty God Jehovah who is Most High over all the earth.
They must be obeyed without question.
A Most High Representative will be recognized by his song:They need to adore me!!
so Christian Dior me!!
from my head to my toes!!
I need to be worshiped!!!!!!
I want to be Rainbow High!
They must have excitement!
and so must I!!!!!! -
