based on this video shot from seattle, i think this 17-year african american teenage girl acted beyond normal expectation.

she is seen threatening or attempting to hit a law enforcement officer who was doing his duty.

the officer had to hit her face.

It's easy to look on and say what shoud or shouldn't have happened. Being a Police officer is a thankless job. Their hands are tied...they have to play by the rules while the bad guys out there have no rules at all and are free to do whatever they want day or night. Even so called good citizens,like children, resent authority on some level and are only too ready to criticize them, but are glad to see them comming when they themselves are in trouble. If this girl were the one in danger she would have had no problem with this officer doing what ever it took to keep her safe. I think if he were to do it again he probably would realize he may have been able to turn things around without a direct punch to the face but who can think that quickly in the heat of the moment? She could have had a knife up her sleeve for all he knew and if so it would have been "goodbye wife and kids" time for yet another officer. I'm sure he would have been happy to have just continued in his daily rounds but these girls apparently caused an incident and he was thrown into the position of dealing with it. Too bad the guy asking all the questions or the one videoing couldn't have stepped in to help if he was so concerned about the poor minor. People are outta control anymore and they need to learn to think twice before getting physical with an officer of the law !

The Watchtower is a printing corporation...no new books...not enough printing to keep em all busy maybe?

What about all those books still out there with the wrong information in them...should there be a recall ?

It seems like over the decades every possible topic has been covered at some time or another in the Magazines. Why not "go green" and just reread the old ones...? Or download and print the articles off the Societies Website if you're interested in a particular subject.

I understand wanting to keep track of the hours spent in the Ministry world wide, but why is it necessary to put ones name on the time slips that are turned in each month ? Is putting your name on it just a way to keep track of the individual and create a sort of incentive to do more because someone is wathcing. Someone in our hall used to turn in their time without putting their name on the time slip. He or she was reffered to as "The Phantom Publiser"

One 60 second public service announcement on Television or the Internet would reach millions of people in a matter of seconds...which is much quicker than having the witnesses driving around each day knocking on empty homes. After all "This good news of the kingdom will be preached through out the inhabited earth....and THEN the end will come." Why not speed it up a little or would that mess up the date that only God knows about ? The Bible talks about going from door to door because that was the only way there was to do it in those days. They use computers, printing presses and other technology to get the work done...why not take advantage of all the available means to speed up the work?

There are over 7 million Witnessses in the world. If each one donated only 1 dollar per month to the Society that would be $84 million a year (right?) not counting all the other revenue they bring in. I know I used to donate a lot more than one dollar per month and I think others did too. Where does all the money go?

Why did we always have to clean the stadiums we were renting before and after we used them ?

Do you really want to live forever?

i'm not sure if i do or if thinking the idea of living forever as a "good thing" was just something that was planted in my mind like a lot of the other stuff.

is the desire to live forever something that i really want or have i been taught that it is something that i should want?

i know i don't want to die, especially a violent death, but i can't imagine still wanting to be here 10 million years from now just because back in 19xx my parents concieved me.

If we were perfect and lived forever ...

You'd never ask anyone .... how are you doing today? How old are you?

You'd never use the experssion. "Well that was a waste of time" or "stop wasting my time"

You'd never be able to honestly say " oh I forgot to tell you..." or " I'm starving... lets hurry up and eat "

No one would say, " Doesn't it seem like today is Tuesday??"

Will be laugh about the hilarious cloths we used to wear back in the 2080's (what were we thinking??)

You might have a friend say "Oh I was just thinking about you the other decade ! "

Rather than it being a bad trait, being a procrastinator might be a good thing. ( Oh...I'll get try and get the garage cleaned out in a millenium or two )

Eventually, in a few thousand years there wouldn't be anyone with an interesting accent...we'd probably all sound pretty much alike.

Eventually, in a few thousand years everyone born after armegeddon will be a sort of mocha color rather than having seperate racial skin colors (this is already starting to happen with the availability of world travel) You would always be able to identify the B.A. (before Armegeddon) crowd because they would be distinctly of one certain race.

My son is 25 years younger than I am but when he's 1 million years old and I'm 1million and 25....what difference will it make?

In a few million years there won't be anyone having cute little babies for us to enjoy. The earth will be filled and subdued.

Maybe the big challenge or hardship that will motivate us will be coming up with new ways to keep things interesting.

The fact that I'm even here seems so random. If they had gone to bed an hour sooner my mom might have gotten pregnant with some other baby.

Wouldn't you run out of things to do or things that seemed interesting? Wouldn't you feel trapped by life after awhile? Even when I'm having a nice vacation there's a part of me that wouldn't want to be on vacation forever.

For it to work I'd have to have some other mindset than what I do now. I'd have to be more like my dog who after 16 years, when I let him out into the back yard, he is as curious and excited as if it were the first time he ever was out there.

Also: If there is no sickness or death in the New System, what would happen if you were walking along in a grove of trees and a Coconut dropped out of a tree and landed on your head. Wouldn't it still crack your skull open and possibly kill you instantly or at least cause you terrible pain ?

Since no one will be unhappy, will I miss hearing a good "Cryin' in your Beer song". It seems like some of the most amazing human feats are borne out of misery and pain. (art,music,stories etc)

Will there be sad stories or will everything have a happy ending ?

Will I be dissapointed if I were to meet King David or someone like that and find out he's kind of a Dork?

Will the Watchtower Corp. or GB be running the show in the New System ?

this is the date when somebody, somewhere, somehow, switched the light on and i realised i'd been part of a cult.

21 years of my life wasted.... since then i have gone through what i can only compare to losing someone i loved in death.

People are going to dissapoint you every time...they can't help it. If you go through life cutting people out who annoy you, you will be one lonely soul. Unless you think they are harmful, take people as they are...enjoy the good in them, be patient when they are small and petty. I like what others have said about branching out. I no longer have any old friends or family that want me unless I believe the same things as they do about religion. I am making plans to get involved in things I've always wanted to do or figure out how to get around the kind of people I admire. For me that would be people who know how to sail a boat, are involved in protecting the environment, like animals, enjoy outings in nature, play music or sing, are involved in art in someway, are into fitness and want to help their community. Unlike people I work with or have been affiliated with through religion, I want to have friends that I will be free to me myself with and I can be honest with. I dont think it's possible to be totally yourself around people when there could be conceqences that effect your livelihood.
