Do you believe in past lives??

i am currently studying for my ''crystal therapy'' diploma and in the last module which is next month it looks at ''past life'' regression... well i for one do not believe in living before so will probably doze off during this last module... anyway i have been told by some people i know that i have been here before... apparently i ''date'' back to ''atlantis''... i found it very difficult to hold back my giggles so i said ''really, i always thought i was brand new''... to which started a discussion on past lives.. i just wondered if any of you lovely folk believed in past lives and had ever had any of this type of regression done??

i may not believe in it, but if it helps someone heal from emotional trauma then good for them and i'm really happy for that one.. just wanted some thought's on the subject.. peace.

I know about spirits being woken from their sleep and taking possession in the one who has woken them.... That distresses me!

I didn't know about good spirits being sent to do ''good works''... I will ask our Lord as I have quite a few questions about that... Well you know me with my questions, I always have a least ten on one subject lol!

We can't even trust our OWN memories of THIS life as accurate representations of true events. Remembering OTHER lives in the PAST would be a crap-shoot even if it was real.

FS I think it's great we can all post our views and thoughts without being judged, well some like to pass judgment, but we just ignore those ones lol!

Twitch I don't believe in reincarnation, but I do believe in our spirit sleeping when we die, to await the 1st resurection and for some the 2nd.

JW at work hitting on me!! (for real)

on another thread i mentioned i met some jws at work within the past 2 months.

well, 2 of them became particularly interested and getting to know me (a lady and a guy) the lady is really nice, and the only reason i know she is a jw is because she mentioned something about no b-days or christmas and that was it... she has not tried to preach to me or anything.... .

on the other hand... this young guy, well he is making sure he becomes my friend, asked me to be my fb friend and messages me everyday at work or on fb... now the funny thing is he told me he is a jw and about 3 times already he had suggested i read my bible (whenever i post status about being bored or unable to concentrate on homework), well yesterday he sent me a message that said "i would like to talk to you tonite, maybe we can hit it up" my reaction was .

no I don't, however, since leaving jws I am more open to these sort of ideas, there's only 1 way to find out lol

I am very open minded about a lot of things.... It's just reincarnation affects me and not in a good way.

Violia that sounds very interesting... Our dreams are our unconscious minds doing a mind dump, so perhaps that is what's happening there??

If you read the Bible with reincarnation in mind, it makes much more sense.

I only know of two for whom this occurred, dear WS (the greatest of love and peace to you!): our Lord... and Elisha, whose spirit was "in" John the Baptist. Otherwise, I am not aware of anyone else having this... ummmm... privilege.

Do yourself a favor and read Journey of Souls by Michael Newton - you just might change your thinking about reincarnation and the afterlife.

I will read it, but I doubt it will change my beliefs.

On another point, I am amazed at how many reincarnated Native American shamans I meet, or Pharoahs and Queens of Egypt but no boring ol' clerks in a 30's govt office...

Yes I have noticed that. One woman I know of loves the negative aspects of life. She sucks teh life out of you she is that miserable. Her recent thing is that she was hung in a previous life because she has a tight feeling around her throat!

Although I've been told I was born before, but I was a woman in a printing office at the turn of the 20th Century. No dreams of being Cleopatra for me.

I have been told that you keep reincarnating so perhaps in another life you were a Queen??

I did see an interesting story about a very young boy who had the uncanny ablity to name WWll aircraft. He had memories of being there. I think they even looked up the man he thought he was. I don't remember much of the story.

I remember reading about that kid... Weird! Who knows where he got that info from.

Exactly! Our future hasn't been written, so it's up to us as individuals as to how our life pans out.

So IF (and thats a big if) reincarnation is real and we go on to live again, we are going to be taking a lot of garbage with us being ex dubbies. We will be spending our next lives in therapy not knowing why we feel the way we do! Sounds fantastic!

I think it would be fun to have a past life regression thingy done, just for the imagination aspect.

During the module I will actually have it done... So that will be interesting to see what tale/s my unconscious mind will come up with. Perhaps I was a mermaid! That would be cool! When I find out, that's if my imagination comes up with anything I will let you know.

Yes. I was a WW2 German Luftwaffe fighter pilot- I got shot down and killed by a P-51 Mustang fighter.

So how did you find out about your past lives?? Did you have flashbacks/hypnosis/past life regression?? I am genuinely interested.

I started watching Deliverance but when it got to the ''Scream like a pig boy'' I had to turn it off... It has disturbed me and I doubt I will ever get over it! Lol
