by Mary inok, so the mega millions jackpot is at half a billion dollars.
if you won and decided to take it in a lump sum, you automatically lose 40%, then there's state and federal taxes, so you'd actually get a 'meazly' $240,000,000.. what would you do if you won that kind of money?
other than donate a chunk to the world-wide-wit-lessing-work..........

Fluoride is not poison especially in small amount. No it doesn't do much service for the oral health because people still eating and drinkings lots of sugar in their diet and don't brush their teeth. Too much of anything is bad for you.

Watchtower making CDs of each Magazine Issue? What's with This?
by Room 215 inwifey comes home with cds of watchtower and cd issues; what, don't they expect jws to read hard copy anymore?.

You are talking about watchtower library cd. We still read hard copies of today watchtower and awake articles. she got a cd of old publications because it is just easier instead of keeping all these books.

Have you met this JW- "You were dumb to follow!"
by serenitynow! ini spoke to a jw who would not let me assign any blame to the fds/gb for their "suggestions.
" she was like, so your parents didn't go to college and served for years where the need was great (in poverty) and then struggled with kids and a ww business and no healthcare- nobody made them do it!
they were dumb!

I feel for the people who have dreams of going to college and getting a rewarding career but never got a chance to do so. I being to assemblies where they discouraged young people from going to college, I thought then that I would never let the Watchtower keep me from going to school to pursue my dreams. Some people that did go to school, went to school to be a teacher so they can pioneer during the summer. No way in a million years I would be a teacher. Thats not who I am. If you ever have dreams of going to school to be in a certain career, now is the time to go back. It saddens me when i see young people throw their life and dreams away for the watchtower. They won't be happy for a long time because of their decision.

by truthseeker indoes anyone have any interesting observations since the book study arrangement in private homes finished?.
are jws happier with the extra night off?
do they miss the book study?

How about cut the watchtower questions down to about 12 instead of 18 to 22 paragraph and questions? Some Watchtower conductor ask so many questions and ask the audience to read almost all of the scriptures in the paragraph...that is torture and cut out the bible reading. What is the point? We can't read the bible without the Watchtower's input. What the hell.... cut all the meetings out lol

What she is doing doesn't make sense...Why join the watchtower but live a life in a way they condemn? You don't believe in what they put in the watchtower. That is plain simple...Probably she is in it because of her friends and family. If none of her family is in the truth, then she is wasting her time for nothing.

What about unbaptized children of baptized parents? Will they be destroyed too? What about children of parents who are just studying with the witnesses? These people in the organization need to stop pointing at the worldy people because they may be destroyed for not attending enough meetings or not going out slaving away their hours enough...lol What a joke...

Why is it legal to have a kangaroo-court?
by bohm inhere is something i have been thinking about.
most problems with religion (jw, shahira) seem to come from self-established courts.
the problem with those courts is that they are allowed to invent rules themselves, and are able to punish people for things that are not illegal, for example sex outside of marriage.

This is the one thing i kick myself for...joining a religion that practice shunning. I guess at the time when you believe it is the true religion and they practice what the bible says. At the same time later on in life, we can decide that it is not what we want anymore and want to find something better in life. It is not a penalty to leave the catholic church to be a jehovah witness but it is a penalty to leave the jehovah witnesses for the catholic church? The judicial meetings and disfellowshipping practice does take away our rights but at the same time we signed up for it and knew what we were getting into without thinking about our decision a lot.
