This rule is really flawed. If the child goes to the elder and tell them that bro. so and so raped him. The elders won't take action unless the molestor confess or there is witness there. Who would stand there and watch someone rape a child and report it? Thats against the law to even watch that. unless you try to stop it from happening in the first place and then report it...

JW's humble?
by donny induring my trek through the jw's i often heard talks and comments stating how witnesses were humble and meek, unlike the haughty-title loving people of the world especially christendom.
well i just received my 2010 alumni directory that covers everyone who graduated from the two high schools that were part of the district i live in.. so i spent the afternoon parusing its pages when i came across a listing for a guy who is now an elder in the congregation i used to attend.
here is how he describes himself.

Don't pay attention to that humble, jumble crap. They bragged about and overexaggerated their title in the congregation. To the world, they are no one.

So, you blew your chance to go to college because of JWs? Don't give up!
by cabasilas ini got the jw "bug" as a teenager.
witnesses called at our door when i was nearly 11. my parents are deaf and i was the oldest hearing child, the default interpreter for them in that era before relay services and professional interpreters.
they had no interest in jws, but it started to spark an interest in me.

No it is not too late to go back. I am a pre-dental student in college and an active witness. I am surprise no one didn't say anything to me about it now but oh well. They are won't be getting in between me and my future dream to be a dentist. I don't care what they would do to me.

Adults with imaginary friends are stupid.
by alice.in.wonderland inhere on jehovahs-witness.net i have come across theists, atheists and those that are agnostic that all claim to be friends because they're ex-witnesses like it is all that is needed for religious unity.. .
why isn't this on the ad?.
because every atheist i've talked to believes jehovah's witnesses are just another organization of stupid adults with imaginary friends, just a splinter of mainstream christianity a lot like the branch davidians.

i dont understand why active jws say that "oh other churches do this too. we must have the truth or we are right all along." ok it is just like you see all your friends doing drugs. Does it make it okay? Your friends all have 10 or more sex partners, does it make it okay or right to do so? So, what is the point? Didn't the elders say that the world thinks it is okay to do certain stuff wrong in the bible but it is not. "Jehovah hates those things" well you can't say just because "christendom" do these things, it makes it okay to do the same or the right thing to do.

well by reading you thread, i kind of understand some of your points. Some other christian groups are "cult like" by kicking out their members and shunning them. But there are diferent groups in a category of christians. Catholic, eastern orthodox, Protestants, amish, Jehovah Witnesses, Mormons, etc. are all part of the big christian category. When someone says, "I'm in a christian cult" it can mean any group in that category. It doesn't mean all groups do this. Some Christian groups do not shun former memebers.

Is correct pronouciation of God's name from it's original language a bible requirement? There are no scriptures saying this!
My reading from the Bible indicates transliteration of names from one language to another is common and goes without saying biblically. Since the bible is written in numerous languages, Hebrew, Greek, Aramaic and makes no mention that this is wrong or not allowed. Our word for God's son "Jesus" is the English version and bears little in common in pronouciation with the original. Jehovah is just the established English version of YHWH (which is the FULL name for Jehovah in the vowelless Ancient Hebrew)
Um i am confused by this. Didn't the WBTS say that we must call Him Jehovah to get salvation? I read from different articles that the name "Jehovah" came from the Catholics. What is your thought on this? What does the Watchtower have to say about this? If you don't know is that is the right pronunciation, then why use it?

UK Newspaper articles. Young JW death re 'no blood'

I would never refuse blood for my child. Never....i don't care if the elder disfellowship me. I would never let my child die because of the no blood doctrine. It is a shame that these parents happily let their children die from not having blood. They think they are doing it for Jehovah but years later the blood transfusion may be a "conscious matter". Think about all these people that died from not accepting organ transplants and now you can accept them...

This Week's Article - Young People's Baptism
by jgnat inthis is the first study article from the april 15, 2010 watchtower, titled "young people - strengthen your desire to serve jehovah.
" i hit paragraph four and i just had to pause to comment.
i am pretty darn sure this is a softening of the jehovah's witness stance regarding the appropriate age for baptism.
