They're Making it Impossible to Fade
by DarioKehl infor those of you who have already faded due to family still being in, have you noticed how the noose is tightening?.
if it's not memorial, it's special day assembly.
if it's not that, it's convention or the special talk.

ecan6an hour agoDid you just say that the Elders want to keep a copy of your medical directives? That is, there is the one that you are expected to keep in your wallet and now they want a copy that is to be kept else where??
Someone posted a group of new BOE letters a week or so ago:several of which are on the HLC/blood issue. One specific checklist for service group overseers directs them to ensure they have a current copy of each person's signed Advanced Medical Directive. Two excerpts from the checklist:You should confirm with each member of your group that they have a signed, witnessed and dated AD document, less than 5 years old. It is helpful to review the completeness and legibility of the document to ensure no mistakes have been made.
For each member of your group, check that copies have been lodged with the witnesses of the AD document, the emergency contact, the publisher’s GP, and the congregation secretary.

If they ask you for a copy, ask if they comply with all the medical records privacy laws. In the States we have HIPAA (which technically only applies to health care providers), but you can ask if they VOLUNTARILY comply with it. Then show them the privacy requirements:

Tell them you will provide a copy when they can show that their recordkeeping policies and procedures satisfy these requirements.

£150m?????????? Whose valuation is this, the IBSA's?
Have they factored in the going rates which would be charged by tradesmen and everyone else involved in a major construction, but which of course the IBSA is receiving for free?It could be that they will be using commercial construction companies to build portions or all of this. For instance, I believe all the steel construction going on in Warwick is being done by outside contractors, and I saw on this month's JW broadcast that the new facility in South Africa is being built by outside contractors rather than volunteers "to save time".

I too thought that the WTS was letting the "blood issue" slip into the shadows of history. These letters seem to indicate the complete opposite. At least now I can prepare in advance what I'll say when they ask for a copy of mine.

There's a pattern emerging
by stillin inthe congregation that i am associated with pledged a monthly amount for the construction of a new assembly hall.
after it was built, that was where we went for several years, even though it was the farthest-away place we had ever had for our circuit assemblies.. after a few years, lo and behold, our congregation is assigned to a new circuit where (surprise!
) a new assembly hall is in the early stages of construction.

No, it's other congregations. Very likely some which are closer to it. But my point is that the cong. That I associate with keeps getting milked but the Halls keep getting further away. There will never be an end to the pledging
At least you find peace in knowing that no matter how much you've contributed, or if the hall is completely paid for, the "expenses" of the one day assembly you attend there will always be confusingly high, and you'll always be running a "deficit" when the post-lunch break announcement is made.

Conversation with my mother-in-law this morning
by StarTrekAngel ini am skipping the details on how we got to this point.
conversation was calmed and pleasant and while i know she is not the most educated person (she can hardly read), its hard to justify it by saying is a matter of ignorance.
it is definitely something inside her that triggers on that very moment.. me: i don't know where all the money is going.

I say let them have at it - put their stupidity out there in public on display. The numbers will eventually show that their marketing strategies are farts in the wind.
I'll be curious to see if all these fancy new preaching technique (kiosks, carts, website, etc.) generate even a slight uptick over the historical average of 1-2% growth of publishers year-over-year for the next 5 years...unless Armageddon comes before then, that is.....
Similarly, I'd be curious to see if there has been a marked increase in the year-over-year growth % in Memorial attendance since the annual month-long invitation work/30 hr pioneer work began.

"Your bad attitude is evident, because you don't bring a meeting bag to the meetings anymore!"
by stuckinarut2 inyes friends.....this is the comment said to me by an elder!.
"your bad attitude is evident because you don't bring your meeting bag anymore!".
i calmly replied: "but everything i need is on the tablet now......".

I will sometimes slip my tablet into the pocket of my overcoat, so I walk into the hall with nothing in my hands. There's an elder that's made comments once or twice before, along the lines of "It almost looks like you didn't come prepared for the meeting!" -
