WT Society SEC Records : Hedge Funds, Cayman Islands, Financial Losses - Links
by flipper inso my wife and i were curious so i researched some financial links and found records indicating that the wt society has been operating at a loss since the year 2012. as you read the links it shows a loss of 10 million $$$ in 2012, about 16 million $$$ in 2013, and a whopping loss of 56 million $$$ in 2014 - where the expenditures exceeded the revenues for each of those years in the amount i've mentioned.
also there is a link on this same website with the sec records indicating that the wt society and it's representatives funneled 40 million $$$$ into hedge funds in the cayman islands as early as 2007. if you look online on other sites you can see evidence that indicates the wt society attended hedge fund conferences to look into more shadiness in 2011 and isn't it curious that by 2012 the wt society started showing losses.
anyway here is the link : https://www.watchtowerlies.com/the_watchtower_revenue.html .. feel free to check this link out and other links on that link indicating the cayman island connection.

I agree. We can assume all we want, but without having all the facts, it's all just pure speculation. -

I admit- I make my TMS talks apostate
by fr0808 inhello (not a new user - had to reregister with the site revamp).
i look for every way to make my 5 minute talks devoid of wt flavor.
i try to be positive -talk about god's love for humanity.

I make it a point to never say anything in my talks I don't personally believe. The closest I came to violating that self-imposed rule was a recent talk where I decided to include a line (posed as a question) about staying faithful if we see "the Governing Body" challenged. I refuse to use the term "faithful and discreet slave". Even if the GB itself uses "FDS" to describe themselves, I won't. From my experience, there are always a few who get just a little uncomfortable if you use "GB" all the time instead of the more flowery "FDS". "FDS" connotes some ethereal group wrapped in robes of holy spirit, whereas "GB" is a group of old (mostly) white guys who love their colored pocket handkerchiefs and pinkie rings and hate tight pants.
I've only ever had one person ask me, "oh, you mean the FDS?" I responded, "no, I used the term GB. They're one in the same, right?" "Well, technically yes, but...."
Sorry, rant over.

Yeah, pretty much SSDD.
The biggest thing they did is move the most boring, mind-numbing, and the LONGEST part of the meeting to the END.
That much more incentive to leave at half-time!

It must be a concern of all the information that is now been leaked
by joe134cd ini have put up previous posts about this in the past, but i just thought that it was worth mentioning again.
it has to be of concern to them with how quickly information is getting leaked.
hell it even surprises at just how slowly information spreads by offical means.

Quarterback8 minutes agoI wouldn't be surprised if nothing is mentioned at the AGM about this recent leaked letter. What we may get just a smile, and a expression, "What? Were you expecting something else? You haven't been listening to those Apostate Websites have you?" They may have leaked it deliberately as a hook.
I could actually see that happening. I have no reason to doubt the authenticity of the leaked letter, but I would not be surprised if the GB, in an effort to keep these changes on THEIR terms, decides to "discredit" the leakers, change their original plans and hold off on a full announcement at the AGM and somehow change the letter that's to be read locally immediately afterward. What we may get just a smile, and a expression, "What? Were you expecting something else? You haven't been listening to those Apostate Websites have you?"
Of course ToMoIII would be gleeful in delivering that line to the audience.Either way, senior management must be on a tear right now trying to figure out who the leaker at HQ is. -

They moved the thread behind the login. They don't want the public to see the finger-pointing and constant apostate paranoia that percolates up when dramatic (JW) events are happening. -

I am just getting a continual kick out of reading the jwtalkDOTnet thread on the subject. Many there are aghast that elders would post the content so quickly. The mods there are playing a constant game of "Whack-a-mole" trying to remove any reference to the content of the Oct 4th letter, or the fact that it even exists. Rather comical.
One or two consistent posters on the thread are being vague enough to avoid getting their threads deleted, but are consistent enough where I'm pretty sure they are members here as well!

S*** JW Parents Say
by Dissonant15 inmy mom especially had some go-to phrases that to this day echo in my head and piss me off.
things like, .
"don't get mad at me for enforcing the rules, because jehovah made them, so if you don't like it, you're disrespecting him.

Parent to an adult JW child not living at home: "Wasn't paragraph 13 of today's Watchtower wonderful? How did your WT conductor tie it in with the illustration?" (Passive aggressive way of trying to find out if you went to your meeting)
During a normal catch-up phone call. "Oh by the way, what did you think of:
- today's Daily Text?
- this week's Bible reading?
- this month's JW broadcast?
Wasn't it wonderful?!"
(Passive aggressive way of finding out whether you're keeping up with the text/Bible reading/etc.)

"'He that is faithful in little....'" (Mom, just said that. She didn't even have to finish the sentence.)
"How do you think that made Jehovah feel?"
"Remember, the angels are watching."
When walking out the door to school, night out with friends, etc., shouted from the other room..."Remember who you are!!!"
"Just think about the 'Hallway of Consequences!'"
"Just think about how you'll feel, and how we'll feel, if we have to sit there and listen as it's announced from the stage that you've been disfellowshipped. Do you ever want to bring that kind of shame on our family? Your father would be removed as an elder, I would be removed as a pioneer, and it would all be YOUR fault."

"We know you'd like to do <X>, but just because you're allowed to doesn't mean it's the best idea. Remember, your father is an elder you have to always set the example. You can never 'give cause for complaint or stumbling.' How would you feel if your father had to step down as an elder because someone was offended or stumbled by you [insert any normal childhood activity-- even for a lot of JW kids]? How would you feel when they announced from the platform that your father has been removed as an elder, knowing it was your fault?" -

90%+ of the projects posted on the firm's portfolio page are residential, yet the WTB&TS project is clearly not the firm's typical Hudson River Valley luxury home project. I wonder if that means it is a brother or sister who is the designer at this firm was leveraged (read: "free labor") for this project.
