  being a jw, especially if you work, there is no time for anything else really.

  Being a JW, especially if you work, there is no time for anything else really. Work, field service, meetings. Wash, rinse, repeat. Now that you are out of the JW's, it certainly frees up a lot of time!

  With all that free time, you have to fill it with something. What do you fill it with now? Do you have any hobbies?

  I used to play a couple instruments sparingly but over the course of working, meetings, service I didn't have any time. Now having left the JW's I have a little bit more free time. I don't know what hobby I should undertake. I started learning the guitar, teaching myself but I haven't picked it up in a while. Maybe I'll work on becoming a guitar god.

  Do You Feel Somewhat Liberated When You Talk About Your JW Past?

  i do.. when i tell people that i was a witness, nobody can believe it!

  i enjoy telling them why i left the religion, the harm they cause, and the benefits of being out of it.. do you express yourself in this way too or is it only me?.

  A lot of the people I hang out with now knew me when I was a JW. It is kind of nice if they ask about me being a JW and I can tell them that I'm not anymore!

  There are very few people that don't know I was a JW that I talk about it with. Its not worth bringing up usually.

  how come you all are not on the way to or at a meeting?lol.so what are you all doing instead?im lying in gthe sun on my couch,w/a cup of coffee,surrounded by cats and guitars and plants.the house is empty,and im listening to the icicles melt..bliss......

  Just thought of a couple more. "Honor your father and mother". Yes, honor your father and mother by shunning them if they should choose to leave the JW's.

  "Keep the sabbath". JW's are encouraged to take every free day they have and dedicate it to field service.

  Here you go "you must not murder".

  Everyday the WT takes lives by taking away any life that WT members may have. A baptism is almost the same as a death sentence. Your life afterwards ceases to exist, forever enslaved to a life of servitude for a publishing corporation.

  What Doctrines or JW Views Did You Not Find Too Believable?

  the thought that a loving creator would violently destroy anyone not belonging to the jehovah's witness religion including billions of babies seemed just not right.. the fact that you could recieve some "acceptable" blood components but could not donate those same lifesaving yourself seemed strange.

  you could recieve a blood fraction but you couldn't give it.. any others you can think of?

  I never really felt that the elders decisions were directed by holy spirit. I mean, that spirit told them to appoint me as an MS when I was doing stuff that would get me DF'd.

  Finished Mystery (1917)... The book that Jesus approved...

  so a few months ago, a friend sent me an actual copy of finished mystery which was published in 1917 (not a pdf download... the actual book).

  i must say, this was the most disturbing book i have ever had the displeasure of reading.

  but i only read it because this was the main publication that was being distributed worldwide when jesus supposedly chose the watchtower in 1918 and i basically wanted to see for myself what jesus saw in the wt that would compel him to choose this religious corporation over all other religious denominations.. anyway, if anyone is interested in knowing the actual contents of this book, here are some bullet points i put together from some of the notes i took as i read the book:.

  Its so sad because you could bring this up to JW's and they'll say "that was all old light" and they'll completely ignore it. Remember, though, that this wasthe book they were using when Jehovah supposedly chose their organization. Why would he choose an organization that was spouting off many ideas that were false?

  Charlie Sheen

  i came rather late to watching the show "two and a half men" and have been watching mostly the reruns, which i have enjoyed immensely (the story lines are funny).

  i try to catch the first runs when i can.

  to me this show is really a homage of charlie sheen's life.
