I watched them all the time. Woulda missed some of the best movies ever otherwise. Of course, I wouldn't talk about them except to a select few who also watched R rated movies. I also played M games too.

Did you watch R rated movies when you were in it?
by ldrnomo inlast night, i watched an r rated movie that featured violence.
at least 30 people were shot in the first 45 min of the movie.. while i was in and an elder, i watched r rated movies all the time just didn't talk about it.
so how many of you watched r rated movies even though "mother" said not to?.

Why the Memorial Is Held on the Wrong Day
by Leolaia intonight on the evening of april 18, 2011, observant jews worldwide will celebrate passover seder, a night "different from all other nights".
the watchtower society annually schedules the memorial for jehovah's witnesses on a date that is supposed to coincide with the jewish observance of passover, as it would have been reckoned during second temple times (in particular, in the first century ad during the life of jesus).
this year the memorial was observed last night, the evening of april 17. the two religious observances are thus a day out of synth, at least this year.

by Terry inmy ex-wife was a hoarder.. it happened gradually over the 18 years we were married.. things which change slowly are invisible to us.. each step is rationalized or passed off as quirky or annoying or.....whatever.. one day you look up and your 3 car garage is full of crap and the cars sit outside in the drive way.. the attic is full.
the closets are full.
then, the living room, the bed room.

Watching Hoarders makes me very sad. I watched one where the guy had thousands of rats in his house. He realized he had a problem but it was just so difficult for him to give them up. It was after his wife died that he started getting more and more rats until they overran the house. He was just trying to fill a giant void that his wife left behind. Truly heartbreaking. If you aren't a hoarder, you can't understand hoarders. I have hoarder tendencies that I have to fight constantly.

who else was there?
was there any evidence that the witnesses are still attracting a large crowd of "newly interested ones" (to use their awful phrase) or even complete strangers drawn in by the door-to-door work.. i hear lots of comments about how poorly attended some of the weekly meetings in the halls have now become, so i'm curious about what you guys may have seen when you attended in the past day or so.

I was told attendance in my old hall was around 240, I believe usual for the first Memorial (our hall would have two) is around 270 I believe.

moshe, you should call up another elder tomorrow and say "I'm here for the Memorial, why is nobody here? According to the Jewish calendar it's telling me it is tonight. Is the Jewish calender wrong or is the Watchtower?"
