No child deserves to be treated like that. I'm sorry your mother has no love in her heart.

My Jw mother hates me and always has
by 20yearfader ini just need to vent, you see i was a born in.it's taken me 20 years after fading from the org to finally get my mind free from the wt dogma.i was on the phone with my aunt today and the subject of my mother her older sister came up.now mind you i haven't spoken to my mother in a month or so after my daughter stayed the weekend at her house and she was being tag teamed about the hall and how i took a vow to jehovah and i'm a failure and i'll be destroyed at armagedon.this exchange upset my daughter so much that she was near the point of tears when she returned home and she hasnt spoken to my mother or father since.anyway back to the conversation with my aunt, she let it slip that my mother told her that she wished she had let the seamen that fertilized the egg that produced me had slid down her legnno bear in mind i can remember as a child running into her room playing and she would say to me as a 7 year old child "i wished i had left you in oblivion"this is one of many such saying my mother had for me......i wasn't a bad child i just wasn't allowed to do anything such as going outside going over a friends house....etc,i have struggled for years as to why this woman hates me so.i got baptized at 15 really as a way of pleasing them what the hell does a child know at 15??
?granted it took me some time to get myself together and put those hurtful comments in the past, but today when my aunt let it slip about what my mother has said about me it was like pulling a scap off of a wound.my wife always complains about how im emotionless and distance, this was done by me as a way of protecting myself.so i've decided and i hate to say this that my christian god fearing parents...are dead to me there is no way i can have a relationship with people that are so wicked and since she never wanted me anyway....it works out for the best thx i just needed to vent i felt like i was going to pop..

Don't worry, it is all being paid for by the people in the congregations that will use it. The WT will probably not have to end up putting up any of their money for it.

24,000 Partakers This Time?
by Cameron_Don inhave any been keeping up with anointedjw.coms gentle efforts to help the governing body, and all the rest of jehovahs witnesses, come to realize that there is just one hope for all christians the heavenly hope.
it will be very interesting to see how effective their efforts will have been at the up-coming memorial of christs death.
anointed.com is expecting that the number of those who will partake of the emblems may double from 12,000 to 24,000. .

I eat crackers and drink wine at home during the Memorial. How come they don't count me?

Public Talk today!
by MinisterAmos ini attended the meeting today, and i just wanted to share my observation of whaty i consider to be part of the hypocrisy inherant to all organized religion.
one of the things i hate most about the jws is the way they point fingers at others while calling them "worldly" or "not christians" while quietly doing the same thing that they accuse everyone else of.. one of the local elders gave the talk about forgiveness to relate with today's study topic.
one of the scriptures he quoted and emphasized was psalms 15:5 which, paraphrased, asks and answers the question: "o lord, who shall sojourn in your vtent?

Are you still in or was this a random meeting attendance?
I actually attended the meeting today. Haven't been to one in a few years. My stepdad was giving the talk and him and my mom wanted to take me out to lunch afterwards so I agreed. I had to keep from laughing during the WT study as one of the sister's who commented about being forgiving is the least forgiving sister I ever knew.

problemaddict, I don't think it really is his baby. I give him credit for the creative spark that got it going and all the trouble he went through to get it made, but the best Star Wars movies are the ones he was least involved in.

If bacon ceased to exist would the world be a poorer place?
by usualusername inthere are few things in this world as good as a bacon sarnie.. .
uun .

The smell of bacon frying is the greatest smell ever. Then you eat it... and you realize the smell is only a foreshadowing of the joy to come. I've been known to fry up a pound of bacon and just eat that for breakfast. My heart says no but my mind says yessssssssss.

Please restart 2013
by akafreelife inthis year is not going so great.
lost my love, got forgotten on my birthday, car got hit the day before my birthday, car got hit yet again last weekend, and today i got a flat tire.
what the f did i do to karma to deserve this crap?

It always seems like when it rains it pours but sometimes the things you least expect will actually work out to not be so bad.
For instance, I was having expensive car troubles and I had just been let go from my job. Plus some other things which I'd rather not go into. Anyway, I end up getting a job that I can walk to, so I don't need to worry about getting a new car until I can reasonably spend money on what would essentially just be a luxury item for me and not a necessity.
I hope things improve for you.

Jacob wrestled with God?
by MrFreeze inone story in the bible that always left me puzzled was the story of jacob wrestling with the man/angel/god.
whoever it was that was wrestling with him was said not to have been able to overpower jacob so he disjointed his hip.
at the end of the account it said jacob named the place peniel because "there i saw god face to face and and yet my life was spared.".

I've been meaning to read Karen Armstrong's "History of God." I'll definitely have to pick the book up now.

One story in the Bible that always left me puzzled was the story of Jacob wrestling with the man/angel/God. What exactly was going on there? Whoever it was that was wrestling with him was said not to have been able to overpower Jacob so he disjointed his hip. At the end of the account it said Jacob named the place Peniel because "There I saw God face to face and and yet my life was spared."
So, what was going on here? Was he supposed to be wrestling with a man of God? An angel? God himself? If it was an angel or god, why couldn't it overpower him?
I think if it was supposed to be god, then it is clear that Jacob and Moses believed in different gods. After all, we can see the power that god is supposed to have in the very next book of the Bible. Yet that powerful god or his angel couldn't overpower Jacob?
