hi, i've been lurking on this site for quite a while after recently having doubts about the "truth".
i've read a lot of posts about problems with the doctrines, mind control, the beliefs, brainwashing that jehovah's witnesses and their literature, as well as their history.
now only being a sixteen year old born in who isn't baptized or unbaptized, i've come to find all this information incredibly overwhelming.
doughnutkitty, welcome to the forum. Since you are still living under the rule of your parents, it is best to take care until you are old enough/able to leave.
My suggestion for your emotions would be keep researching about the WT and the Bible. The more you do that, the more you'll see the facts and be more and more convinced that the WT is wrong. www.jwfacts.com is a great place for that.
You do have a leg up on a lot of other people on this forum. You were never baptised. Keep it that way.

The WT believes there is more than one Nabonidus. It's how they justify the extra years to reach 607. If you can't grasp what I was saying than clearly the whole concept and subject might be a little bit beyond you.

scholar, you haven't responded to me yet. You said to keep it simple (I thought what I wrote was pretty simple). Can you prove (without WT references) that there are two Nabonidus' that served as king back to back for 36 years? If not, then you can't really justify the WT viewpoint unless you are bad at math.

You see, I had it all simply lined out but lost my work. I have to say, what I've written above is plenty simple. If you can provide historical proof (not out of the WT) that there were two kings named Nabonidus that ruled back-to-back before Babylon fell, then go for it.
If you add up all the kings from 539 using WT chronology (minus the additional random 19 years of a second Nabonidus that the WT throws in with no proof) then the 19th year of Nebuchadnezzar's reign falls on 587. Math really isn't that hard.
think of all the anxious souls who barely escaped the end of 6,000 years of human existence in 1975. they were saved!.

The whole point of Terry's post (this is what I got out of it anyway) is that for every day Jehovah doesn't bring Armageddon, he is just adding more and more bodies onto the pile. 7 million Witnesses and 7 billion people in the world. For every 1 person that Jehovah saves by delaying Armageddon, 1000 more have to die.
Also, if death at Armageddon is dependent on rejecting the warning (as JW's will often claim), then wouldn't we be bloodguilty for not leaving people ignorant? If we hadn't warned them, they wouldn't have died!
can anyone point me in the right direction, a good descriptive list of gods anger, genocide, vengeance and general things that we would view as bad and the scriptures next to it to show where these things are in the bible?.

i am fairly new to learning the truth with jehovah's witnesses.
we have been having 2 home bible studies a week for over 4 months now and we started going to the kingdom hall 3+ months now.
i am enjoying my studies and the brothers and sisters are wonderful .
