DC 2010 Release - The Origin of Life and its many misquotes
by Designer Stubble inlooking up all the references is a lot of work - one of the reasons nobody normally verifies these, but trust the writers.
as you will see, the writers are banking on this, but it is not a good thing to trust the wtbts writers.
please find the bibliography worked out for quotes 38-51, covering the heading "what about human evolution".. interesting is that many quotes are from the preface of books, where the authors honestly explain the difficulties and assumptions related to evolutionary science.. what about human evolution?.

Belief in the Torture Stake and Noah's Ark - My Issues
by MrFreeze inwe all have jw beliefs that we take issue with.
what are some of the beliefs you think about that really bug you, that not too many people talk about?.
for me there are two specific teachings.

Agreed BUT, that is not the WT position, and that's my point.

That's just the point frigginconfused. That's not what the WT says. It says the WHOLE earth was flooded. There are stories of a great flood in that area and that there was a certain person in the area who had a large boat and used it to avoid dieing. However, I highly doubt it was 3 football fields long.

Ridiculous Comment By a Super JW
by mentallyfree31 ina few years back, before i had any doubts and when i was a hardcore jw, i remember a super-pioneer-jw sister was conversing with me.
i made the comment about some of my friends at work (all non-witnesses).
she stops me mid sentence and says "friends?

I always say friend and don't care who knows it. Of course you have friends at work. Otherwise it would be impossible to get through the day.

Explaining the NEW Generation!
by UnDisfellowshipped inexplaining the new generation teaching:.
this is for anyone who may not know yet what exactly the "new light" is on the "generation of 1914":.
god has now revealed to the governing body of jehovah's witnesses the true identity of "this generation that will not pass away until all these things occur" spoken of by jesus at matthew 24:34!.

Maybe in 100 years they will tell us that its overlapping with the ones who overlapped the original generation.

Stumbled across a great WT quote - talk about a comedy of errors!
by sd-7 in*** w53 2/15 p. 100 "how do you make a convert?
as to how thoroughly priests are acquainted with their bible, regardless of how much they may know about theology, philosophy, church history, etc., can be gathered from the errors appearing in the section "bible class studies" of our sunday visitor of may 25, 1952. this article stated: "later abraham had another son named ishmael.
" as if ishmael were born after isaac, when all should know that ishmael was the result of impatience for a seed by abraham through sarah.

I'd say the light has gotten so bright that they are clearly blinded.

I preferred the original, only because of Pat Morita. Jackie Chan was okay but Morita was just awesome. Also, this version was somehow even more unrealistic than the original. The kid practices kung fu for weeks and he's suddenly a master? All you need to do is look at that crazy flip he did at the end. At least it was obvious in the original that Macchio mainly got lucky. He also had prior experience, if only through his local YMCA. Despite that, the fighting scenes were top notch. Lots of nice slow mos and awesome action. Biggest gripe I have is the name. Yeah, I know they used it as a marketing ploy to get more money from people who wanted the nostalgia, but c'mon, he doesn't use karate. They are two completely different martial arts. I would have liked them to put the Joe Esposito score "You're the Best Around" during the tournament. Still, it was an enjoyable film and I'd recommend it. I'll add it to my large DVD collection to go with all four of the other Karate Kid movies.
There was something painfully obvious about the obnoxiously loud and vulgar people who were in the theater with me: 1) They had never seen the original. 2) They have never seen a movie before. 3) They've never seen the 9th grade. It made it an unpleasant experience to watch

This is not the greatest man-made disaster in history. Good god, haven't you people ever watched the disaster that was Nicholas Cage in "The Wicker Man"?

When was the last time somebody proved you wrong and you admitted it?
by Terry inintellectual honesty and personal integrity depend on a fine point.
can you accept being wrong and admit it?.
nobody wants to be wrong because we have to trust your view of things to survive and prosper.

MrFreeze
Well I've never been wrong so...
Obviously all kidding aside, yes I have. I do it all the time at work. It's the only way to keep people off your back half the time.
