  Yes Alice, the principle of that Mosaic Law is don't purposefully mislead people. The JW Organization has done it time and time again. It's one thing to say something that's wrong, it's another to tell people that the end is coming and then list dates. God disapproved of what Hananiah did, why would he not disapprove of the JW organization doing the same exact thing?

  If you ordered a pepperoni pizza and they gave you a guarantee it would be here within a half hour or the pizza is free, what would you think of the pizza company if they showed up in two hours with an anchovie pizza and still made you pay for it? I doubt you'd be ordering from them anytime soon.

  Violence Training

  did anybody notice the paragraph in today's study edition that pretty much said that "violent video games and movies are training people to be violent towards each other during the great tribulation".. i really had to do my best to not laugh when i read this.

  i don't know if any of you watch penn & teller's show.

  they did a show on violent video games and their effect.

  Did anybody notice the paragraph in today's study edition that pretty much said that "violent video games and movies are training people to be violent towards each other during the Great Tribulation".

  I really had to do my best to not laugh when I read this. I don't know if any of you watch Penn & Teller's show. They did a show on violent video games and their effect. They interviewed a young kid (in the 9 year old area) who plays a lot of violent video games. So they wanted to see how the video games trained him to be violent. They took him out on a shooting range. The kid took one shot and didn't want to shoot anymore. He even started crying. Yup, those video games sure bring out the killer in people.

  Also another paragraph went as far as to say that "if you aren't in the organization, that means you are automatically prideful and selfish". Yes because everyone in the world is prideful and selfish. Why should we question that statement?

  Then of course you have the magazine telling you to avoid internet sites. Here's my question, if it is so obviously the Truth, why are people so easily persuaded against it, by visiting websites? If something is the truth, it should be extremely difficult to dissuade anyone of it.

  I don't know, these were just some observations that I had.

  Is Alcohol Bad For You?

  i have heard from some credible sources that any alcohol consumption is technically not good for you as our digestive system is not designed for fermentation intake.

  i have read studies that say the same thing.. how much credence do you give the concept that any alchohol is technically not good for you?.

  Actually I've read that consuming moderate amounts of alcohol is actually beneficial. Of course tonight I did not consume moderate amounts so that goes right out the window.

  I don't get the connection between being a JW and touching little kids. There are plenty of JW's who don't touch little kids. Can't we just admit some people are just plain sick in the head regardless?

  Yes you can say they are false prophets. Can you show me five different failed prophecies? I know they are there.

  I'm just saying I'd like to hear everyone's five best arguments against the JW's. If someone told you that they would give up being a JW if you could show them five proofs that say the WT organization is wrong, which five would you bring to the table?

  i learned to open my mind to opposite thoughts.

  It has helped by giving a place to be able to speak your mind. To say things you truly feel and have no fear of biased judgement. At least that's what I get out of it.
