I think people really don't care about Jehovah's Witnesses. They don't take them seriously.

Jehovah's Witnesses and Google
by DT ini was recently doing some keyword research with google's keyword tool.
it gives you information about how many people search for certain things on google, the world's largest search provider.
it's very useful for people who build websites.

Disfellowshipping Offense
by Had To Go inso i went to my sister's wedding this past sunday, which happened to be smack dab in the middle of a church service.
my all faithful husband told me it was a dfing offense and that he was obligated to tell the elders that i was going to a church.
i really could care less about the actual act of being df it is the fact that my husband felt the need to "turn me in".

Nah I don't think you would be disfellowshipped for going into a church for a wedding/funeral. I went to a worldly funeral in a church for my grandmother and the elders didn't care. I believe it is a conscience matter.

JW's not a cult
by Lunatic Faith inokay, before you fly off the handle--i wrote a blog on how my research proves jw's are a cult (no, i haven't read the cult book yet).
somebody linked their own findings onto my site saying the opposite.
their evidence is erroneous and as i don't have time to point this out i thought i would let you all do it for me.. www.epages.wordpress.com.

Spade/alice, please just give it up. If the JW's are so great and you are so obsessed with defending them, why aren't you one of them? You sit here and badmouth us because we choose to speak badly of something that has done harm in our life. You speak so highly of this organization, as if you really believe they are God's organization. Yet you aren't a member. Why don't you get baptized, then you can start counting your time.
I realize you are trolling hardcore, but seriously, why are you even here? If you aren't willing to be a JW, why are you defending them?

Pirate News
by free2beme inas news hits again today, that pirates have taken another family off the somalia coast.
i am wondering, is it really possible in 2011 that people in this world have not gotten news that this is a bad place to sail?
i mean, come on people, it is a troubled part of the world and even the military is having a hard time policing it.

As a Pittsburgh Pirates fan I feel we have it much worse. At least these pirates put people out of their misery and don't hold them hostage for 18 years...
In all seriousness though, I agree. Why do people continue to frequent that area? Common sense should dictate not to sail there. The earth is 70% water. Surely, there is somewhere else they can sail.

g01 11/22 Speculates then tells us not to speculate??!?!? Wha?
by punkofnice inhere's a little snippet from g01 11/22.
"will god bring back life-forms that have become extinct because of mans ruining the earth?
if the creator wishes to have extinct animal species reappear on the earth, he can certainly recreate them in the future.

Here i am....
by makersmark inhere i am - born in truth, hard-core spiritual everything all my life, early reg.pioneer, ms, elder, assembly parts, tour at bethel, etc, married now...... i'm trying to examine jw teachings a little closer...... i've spent the last two weeks reading many many posts, info , references on where ex-jw's are coming from.
i'm kind of concerned about a few things lately..... honestly - some points make sense to me - some don't - here are my general thoughts:.
-wt getting un membership for access to library - doesnt bother me - some passports and other governement documents have similar forms and requirements..... -blood issue - some counterpoints to the jw 'rules' makes sense (original intent of scripture is unbled animals, white blood cells similar in mothers milk) etc -however a lot of 'apostate' reasonings and proof are inaccurate.

Makersmark, really, do some research about 587 vs. 607. You don't need to see the arguments here. Just do your own secular research on it. I implore you to do this. This is a VERY big issue. Do secular research and see what experts really say about 587 vs. 607. You will be VERY surprised.
By the way, welcome to the board.

Facial Hair a Perfect Fading Strategy

Young people, you can die if you do not progress in the truth and become baptized.
by garyneal inthis is what the guest speaker was saying at my wife's hall yesterday.
she and i was babysitting our niece and since she had three kids going to the hall with her (including my two daughters) i figured i'd go with her to help out.
they were rambuctious and wild to say the least.. while i was in the hallway with my youngest daughter, i continued to listen to the speaker talk.
-
MrFreeze
This type of double talk really bugs me to no end.
An elder told me "We don't judge. Only Jehovah is the one who judges".
Yet the same elder says something in a talk that states you will die at Armageddon if you aren't doing enough or haven't dedicated yourself. Hey pal, I thought you weren't judging? Looks like you are to me. Freaking hypocrites.

Reminds me of an episode of South Park. Bunch of people are in hell:
One man: Hey, wait a minute, I shouldn't be here. I was a totally strict and devout Protestant! I thought we went to heaven!
Hell director: Yes, well I'm afraid you were wrong.
Another man: I was a practicing Jehovah's Witness.
Hell director: Uh, you picked the wrong religion as well.
Another man: Well, who was right? Who gets into heaven?
Hell director: I'm afraid it was the Mormons. Yes, the Mormons were the correct answer.

"We are all atheists ...
by Nickolas in... about most of the gods that societies have ever believed in.
some of us just go one god further.".
dawkins raises a point which some, if not many, theists will dismiss as irrelevant, but i am not exactly sure why.

I'm on the border here. On one hand, I see a lack of evidence for God. On the other hand, I'm open to the idea of there being a God. Maybe there is a God. Is it the Judeo-Christian God? Is it some unknown God who created all things, that has chosen to never reveal itself? We will probably never know.
Essentially, I'm not that egotistical to think that I know for certain there is no God. I believe that there may very well be a God. However, until I see proof that said God actually does exist, I'm sticking on the fence.
