It's great to see people enjoying their life with "Non-essential" activities. Moshe, how the hell do you find the time?

Thoughts about new light
by MrFreeze inyou don't have to go far to find hypocrisy in wt land.
we all know that any time the wt comes up with some new bs interpretation of the bible they claim they are just "refining" the truth.. yet anytime they mention the standards of the world becoming more and more lax towards things they consider sinful, they condemn it.
couldn't you say that the world has been "refining" their standards?

I dont' know, maybe it's a stupid thought but it makes sense to me.

The JW Business Method
by MrFreeze ini got to thinking about this today.
what other business would survive for very long if they had the jw business method?.
first, they hire on workers to sell their literature... except they don't pay them.

First, they hire on workers to sell their literature... except they don't pay them. That alone would sink your business by not having the manpower.
Second, they somehow actually get their workers to PAY THEM through "voluntary" donations!
OUTLAW says that the WT is run by idiots but frankly, I think they are run by geniuses! How else could they manage something so ridiculous and actually get it to work?

shunning is love - Feb 15 2011 Watchtower
by jj123jj123 in18 if you face a similar situation, please remember that jehovah sympathizes with you.
by cutting off contact with the disfellowshipped or disassociated one, you are showing that you hate the attitudes and actions that led to that outcome.
however, you are also showing that you love the wrongdoer enough to do what is best for him or her.

Even God wasn't cruel enough to cut off all contact with his disfellowshipped son....

Mother-in-law sends some reasoning on wedding anniversaries vs birthdays...
by garyneal inmother-in-law sends my wife a thank you card because she did something nice for her mom on their 33rd wedding anniversary.
they went out to eat dinner, a cake was provided, and everyone had a good time.
frankly, all that was needed was the candles and a song and it would be no different than a birthday party.

When will they realize that the birthday is not a celebration of one's birth? It IS a celebration of one's life.

I committed un-suicide yesterday
by AlmightyDog inyesterday i opened my wallet and took a long look at the (no) blood card prominently displayed inside.
i have been convinced that this is not the truth for a couple of years now, and am trying to figure out whether to fade or da.
it hit me hard yesterday that with this piece of paper in my wallet, i could possibly end up dying for beliefs i no longer hold.

I got rid of the card several months before I left the organization. Anytime I would open my wallet in front of JW's I would hide where my card would have been from them.
