For born in's: how did your parents get you to answer up?
by highdose inmy mum used to smack me on the arm with a rolled up wt when it was my turn to answer, she said it was " to make sure you didn't forget!".
most of the time i ended up just yelling "ow!
" and rubbing my arm, but she never got the message.. another way was to scream at me non stop all the way home after the meetings if i hadn't answered up.

Are JWs the worst restaurant customers?
by Alfred in(a little background info before i ask my question...).
my sister-in-law (non-jw), who manages a popular chain restaurant near a kingdom hall, just found out that my wife and i have recently faded, so she decided to get something off her chest the other day... you guessed it: she wanted us to know that jws are the worst customers ever!
she then told us some really embarrassing stories about how jws would request a table for 15 to 20 people (after a sunday meeting) and then (when the bill came) some of the jws would start deliberating amongst themselves on whether or not the waiter was diligent or not (to justify the low tip he was getting anyway).

I am the ideal restaurant customer. I don't take very long to decide what I want. If I'm going somewhere with a large party, we call ahead first and reserve the space so they are not unexpectedly swamped. I leave a generous tip (usually 20% or even more). I never complain. I rarely ever get lousy service because I go out of my way to make the wait staff's job as easy as possible. Finally, I always leave immediately after eating, never sticking around taking up space.
Then again, that's just me.

by mouthy inthere are some wonderful folks reading this site.. so many wonderful jws( doubters ...but reading).
also there are folks on here who know it is a cult... one of them just called me...( wont say who ,as is fading).. but encouraged me so very much,thank you thank you thankyou.

Here's my thought on this.
At what point do GB members figure out it's all a lie? Do they figure it out before they become members? Were any of them ever genuine or were they just trying to rise in the ranks the whole time? At what point did they figure out it was all a lie? How many have worked towards that and gave up because they found out it was a lie?

People always talk about the worst movies and just list movies that are bad in their opinion. Like people listing Independence Day. Seriously?
Okay, I've seen The Room mentioned here. Yes, it was an awful movie but it has a certain charm to it. It's so bad it's good. Frankly, I love Plan 9 From Outer Space. Low quality movie for sure but I've grown to really appreciate watching it. I rather enjoy it.
Troll 2 is another one mentioned. It's a pretty lousy movie in every way, sure.
I'm going to do you all a favor and post the WORST movie ever made. Once you watch some clips for it, you will have no doubt in your mind. This movie has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. The movie? Birdemic: Shock and Terror. Sit back and enjoy:

I hate to say anything bad about my mother but heres the real facts about her. I dont even remember her crying when my dad and her mother died. When I left the organization she said it would be better if I were dead. Im sick of making excuses for her. The religion only moves somebody to so much. There is a point when it flows over from just religious stupidity to it actually being her personality. With the way she has treated me, Im seriously considering cutting off communication when I move out next month. I love my mom but I just cant deal with her attitude anymore. It is breaking my heart.
