I swear, with articles like this they are just openly laughing at the JW faithful.

Is the Watchtower Destroying All Thinking Skills of New Witness, Compare them to when you were in the Organization!
by RottenRiley inmany jws don't know the basic doctrines we all use to debate the clergy with.. .
jws don't know the bible, the know a few proof-texts but can't handle the bible like the witnesses of 1950s-1990s, what happened?.
the caliber of the new elders is horrible when compared with the elders of 1950s-1990s, they don't know how to use their bible, they are turning towards orgnazational minor details while ignoring the bible and gospel message.. .

There was one JW elder in my hall (he passed about 8 or so years ago) who was one of the smartest people I ever knew. Of course it was wasted on being a JW. His memory was remarkable. He knew the ins and outs of the Bible. He had studied many different translations and new a lot about the Greek/Hebrew languages. I enjoyed when he was my book study conductor. I learned a lot from him (not just about WT stuff). I don't think any of the new age JW's are built to be as learned as he was.

Special Assembly Day - tepid applause
by sir82 injust got back from a recent sad.. after most talks, the applause was, at most, tepid.. it was striking in its tepidity, if that is possible (and if that is a word).. affter most talks, applause lasted literally no more than 5 seconds.
its volume was scarcely above a whisper.. it wasn't acoustics - the bethel speaker was technically a polished speaker (although presenting the same old boring info), and his talks generated noticeably louder applause.
but even still - that applause was maybe 10 seconds, and about normal-conversation level.. but local speakers - the applause was not much more loud than the hum coming from your refrigerator.. there were 1300+ people there.. it was just so weird - my previous large-group experience was at the agm, where people were nearly apoplectic & drooling with delight over their new "silver bibles" (which very few have read, i'd wager).. these guys were just "zombified".. speaking of bibles - bethel dude called it a "platinum bible".

LOL I've seen baptism talks at assemblies with nobody getting baptised in a circuit of about 1000 or so. Talk about an awkward talk.

So I found out last week that a coworker of mine has been studying with Jehovah's Witnesses. I think she said she had been studying for a long time and has been to plenty of meetings. Her grandmother is a JW apparently. I started having a discussion with her about it and I heard the all too familiar phrases such as "The Truth." It made me cringe. I've talked to her a lot and I can tell she'll probably never get baptised or anything. Kinda wondering if I should do anti-witnessing to her just in case. She has like 6 kids so I'd hate to have any of them suffer through the Kingdom Hall.
Now that she knows I was a Jehovah's Witness she keeps occasionally bringing up stuff regarding it. Mostly in the form of phrases. "Jehovah help me!"

The future of the meetings?
by Kool Jo ini bumped into this website....really interesting:.
you however need a pw to access....if this was more popular, i could see khall attendance dropping, as we know, most people simple go just to appease others: .

Before I left we actually had pretty good attendance. With the telephone hookup it was always at or right near 100% for weekday meetings. Of course, this is probably because we counted all the little kids in our Kingdom Hall (who were not even unbaptised publishers).

Do You Honestly Believe That You Would Have Officially Left The JW Religion If They Didn't Shun You?
by minimus ini left as an inactive person.
i pretty much have been left alone by the elders and witnesses, as far as being hounded.. i know of many that either disassociated or got disfellowshipped.. i'm wondering if you think you would have remained a jw, in name only, if the religion (cult) didn't shun and penalize as they do..

MrFreeze
I would have NEVER been a JW if I wasn't forced to go by my mom.

How many have been the FDS in the whole history of the world ?
by scary21 inwith the jw crazy new light, they must now believe that only 20-30 men in the whole history of mankind fill that role.
rutherford would be first, then knorr.
after them there were what eighteen on the gb?

I find it kind of interesting that the anointed disappeared until Russell came along. Almost like the whole thing was made up or something.

Just remember, they inject you with a very mild version of the flu so there is always the possibility of flu-like symptoms. I've never had a flu shot.
