Did You Experience THIS When You Were Awakening From Mind Control?
by mentallyfree31 inback in december, when i awakened from the wt mind control - i would wake up for several weeks in the middle of the night thinking "what are you doing?
you know the witnesses have the truth".
every day or so these thoughts would return.

No. I was completely opposite. I didn't do look at any "apostate" material when I started believing it wasn't true and relied solely on myself to form my opinions to leave. For the first year(starting in 2008) I just had to learn to trust my thoughts. I could tell something wasn't right. I studied the WT CD Roms info on blood and could see so much hypocrisy in it that it was enough for me.

What Super Powers does Ted Jaracz have in heaven now??? Any?
by Witness 007 inso congrats ted your a "king and preist" in heaven ruling with jesus, so.....how is this different to his bethel job?
he can"t smite me for showing disrespect.
does he sit there and take down names for armagedon?

That is very true. The Pope is the perfect reference. No matter how many times you see the GB on tv at Bethel, shaking his hand, was at that time in my life a surreal experience. Way past the point of caring now though.
It's not like Jaracz was sending out letters encouraging elders to get little 4 year old boys in the backroom for a "shepherding visit." Almost all on this board seem to use the phrase "I am responsible for my OWN salvation." Granted I am not as well versed in apostate law as most on this board and I get it that he made incorrect decisions that hurt people but to say he was arrogant or to put him in the same sentence as Hitler and I start to wonder if some left one cult to join another. Ok, off the soap box i go. Off to bed.
You guys don't have to "play nice" with me because I'm a newbie thinking you'll scare me back into JW boredom. I will probably come off as a contrarian to most here because i just don't see the point in following a good post with "good post, well said!" unless of course it was a "good post" and it was "well said." jk. Have a good night to all!

OK, I watched the first video on youtube. Still don't think it's right to trash him.

Really? Thats how you roll? You are gonna make a post making fun of someone who just lost their life? Having personally met Jaracz I can tell you he was a very kind person and well respected. He was deeply convicted in his beliefs no matter how different yours may be, please show some respect.

Where Am I?
by BoomTown inabout a year ago, i made the same choice many on this board made, to leave the witnesses.
at first, when i would go back to the hall i would tell my believing(just barely) wife why things being said were so false and i was so damn adament about what i was learning from the "apostate sites.
" in the past year my meeting attendance has slowly faded to about 1 meeting a month.

There is no way in hell I will ever believe its the truth. Thats for sure. Wish there was a way to speed up my wife and let her fade to get the hell out. Is it me, or do way more men leave than women? Just seems like there are a ton of husbands whose wives are still in but not as many wives whose husbands remained.

About a year ago, I made the same choice many on this board made, to leave the witnesses. At first, when I would go back to the hall I would tell my believing(just barely) wife why things being said were so false and I was so damn adament about what I was learning from the "apostate sites." In the past year my meeting attendance has slowly faded to about 1 meeting a month. Now, when I go to the KH, I don't even listen to the words the speaker is saying. Ironically, this is exactly the way I came into the truth at this very hall, going to meetings at a place i didn't want to be(my parents were having marital problems and thought the hall was a good place for us) not listening to the words of the extremely boring and uninteresting speakers. So, the question I pose is this: Am I at the beginning of a new cyclical phase of the truth, where eventually I'll just jump back in or am I at the reaching the beginning of the end, where I could just care less about being at the hall other than to support my wife while she still believes?

The 144,000 Belief - What Will Happen To It?
by mentallyfree31 inwhat do you think will happen to the 144,000 belief as the years progress?
will the wts convert that to a "figurative" number and leave it open-ended?
or will they come up with another date and insist that anybody after that date should not partake?.
-
BoomTown
Nothing will ever happen to the teaching of the 144,000 imo. Why change? As time passes, people will start to believe that the replacements are being replaced when someone in the year 2065 proclaims they are now of the annointed. I'm sure that more judgement and more scrutiny will be passed on to those who believe they are receiving the heavenly calling though and many will become afraid to partake for fear of this judgement.

Why not go to the bank and put a stop order in on that check number? I doubt she would know and I doubt the WTS would ever follow up on it. Its probably a 25 fee.

Help! I need advideQ Elders want to speak to me..
by cia171 inas you read in the title, the elders from my congregation want to have a chat with me...which could be about to things...either why havent i gotten baptized ( since ive been in this since i was born...ive been tortured all my life lol) or either because i have a worldly boyfriend.. i dont know what to say in either case!
i cant say i dont want to get baptized because i have to appear to like the religion til i graduate college cuz my mom pays for it and is pract blackmailing me with it, and i cant say tht i will cause i hate it!
and about my boyfriend they will either give me advice about why not to be with him or convert him...so i dont know what to say to to pacify them and not let it get to me...so any advice?

As one who has recently left the religion after 7 years of being baptized, just be polite. Answer their questions without answering there questions. You are in a great spot right now. You aren't baptized. The elders and the congregation will always put there best foot forward with you because of this. Just be polite and loving to them this one time and they should leave you alone for a solid year to a year and a half. If the CO is coming into town, just delay the visit til after his stay. Chances are once he leaves, shepherding you will be the last thing on their minds.
