Actually, noidea, Alan was the most adorable baby anyone has ever seen. I'll hunt up a few pictures and scan them.

Dave at a loss for words? Mark this day down in history.
Speaking of babe magnets, how many of you have seen our own dear Dave in person? Wowzie. I'm going to see him next month, and I'm letting Alan know right now, the first place *I'm* heading when we get to Portland is for Dave's lap!
Watch out, Dave. Here I come!

That's the picture! Thanks for saving me the trouble, Alan.
I bet if Alan had had THAT look on his face at the vigil, no woman would have been within a MILE of him! :-)) (See what I have to put up with at home?)

Well, Marilyn, I'm afraid I *can't* quote JW stuff to Alan. I've deliberately tried to forget everything I ever knew about that religion. But you have an interesting point. I wonder what would happen if I started spouting that stuff at just the right moment. Maybe I should get into the big library of ours and start studying up. :-)
I hope everyone realizes that I was trying to give Alan a hard time and not those lovely ladies in the photo. Believe me, any and all of you are welcome to Alan's lap whenever you like (especially Barbara!). :-)) I get a big kick out of the teasing and attention he gets. He's earned it. :-)

Marilyn, that second picture is much more his normal state. LOL
I have one of this hideous face he likes to make. Not sure if he's posted it, but I'll have to find it. And I just got a new digital camera today, so I can take some REAL, candid shots of him to share with his admireres.
Yeah, you other men, eat your hearts out. Alan rules. LOL

Sigh. Not again!
It seems that no matter where Alan goes, his groupies follow. He can't go anywhere without women swarming all over him, each one vying with the others for his special, one-on-one attention. Oh, it gets tiring for him, but he feels pity for these poor women who yearn for the attention of nerdy engineers whose heads are full of nothing but the details of JW trivia and analog circuitry. So Alan and I have agreed to let them enjoy their little moments with him. It does no real harm and gives them such joy, poor things. What none of them realize is that I have a whole album full of these pictures. Every year, the number of admirers grows. I've given up even trying to remember to write names next to the many hopeful faces in those photos. Soon they all become a blur.
I can only say I know personally what it's like for the wives of the world's most popular and sought-after men--women like Prisilla Presley and Jerry Hall. Yes, we, the wives, willingly share our men with their admirers. For we know that, when it really counts, their laps are reserved for us alone. And oh, you'll never know what exquisite joy that is! Alan might LOOK and ACT like a nerdy, JW-trivia-spouting engineer, but in the privacy of our bedroom he's an ANIMAL! In the heat of passion, only a few scriptural arguments and quotes from old Watchtower literature escape his lips. The rest of his utterances are passionately whispered sweet nothings.
So never fear, no matter how many JWD/AlanF groupies sit on Alan's lap, I know he's still MY man. After all, it's MY office and computer and library he comes home to!
The long-suffering Julie F (who willing lets her husband attend these functions knowing full well what's going to happen--yet again)

Amazing Survived Major Heart Attack
by AlanF ini just spoke on the phone to amazing (jim whitney) who is in intensive care in a chicago hospital.
on monday he had a major heart attack, had a stint put in an artery to unblock things and may have bypass surgery.
he's comfortable enough right now, but of course will have to make some big lifestyle changes.

I answered the phone when Jim called. It sounds as though they're planning to do bypass surgery, possibly "next week." I got the impression they'd keep him in the hospital until he had the surgery. When a similar thing happened to my dad, the doctors said they wouldn't let him go home without the surgery. Little did they know that my stubborn dad didn't want the surgery; he wanted to try the Dean Ornish Reversing Heart Disease program for a year and see how he did. That was two years ago. He's doing great, and the doctor admitted to us that dad probably made the right decision for him. I told Jim I'm going to send him the book. He said the doctor told him he'd have to make some major lifestyle changes. Having bypass surgery and stents and angioplasty doesn't mean much if you don't change the lifestyle that got you there in the first place. Alan's stepfather's bypasses are all occluded because he basically hasn't changed much. Jim said he's determined to make the necessary changes. He's a young man (well, he's our age) with a lot of life ahead of him.

Lies in the Dateline Show
by TheMatrix infirst lie: erica.
i dont believe erica lied about her abuse.
obviously it must be true, even mr. beliz confessed that he touched her inappropriately.

What a jerk you are, TheMatrix. I also know Barbara Anderson; she has been a close friend of my mother-in-law for more than 40 years. She was *indeed* a researcher at Bethel--the only woman to ever hold such a position. The fact that they used her in this way only testifies to her intelligence and skill as a researcher.
As for Erica lying, you have absolutely no proof of any such thing. Do you know you can be sued for slander for accusing people of lying when they aren't? Why don't you use your brain (if, indeed, you possess one, which I doubt) and get some facts before you go running off at the mouth.
Geesh.

Stay tuned. The same thing happened to my parents in southern Colorado. I check TVguide.com and the listing had changed from a couple of hours earlier. It now looks like it will air after the news. I think the game went a bit late and they just switched the order.
