  The WT teaching is false. Demons are live... albeit spirit... beings, and therefore must inhabit things that have spirit in THEM: animals and people... and perhaps plants (plants are a LIFE form).

  how is this claim more credible than the witnesses thinking demons can inhabit objects? Its all spooky superstition boogy man stuff anyway; you can't prove demons exist, nor that a "spirit being" whatever the heck that is, must inhabit something with "spirit" in it.. what is spirit anyway?

  has anyone ever written to the society,with evidence of misquotes, and asked them for an explanation of this?

  or has anyone ever written and asked them why they quote and don't give the source of the quote?

  if i did this, do you think i would get into trouble in the congregation, etc.?

  last year, our family went through the most traumatic experience of our lives: we left the church we'd been attending for more than a decade.. i always suspected our church was a little "unusual," but because i saw what appeared to be positive changes in people's lives, i kept telling myself we couldn't possibly be involved in a "cult.".

  my family and i were led to believe we were members of a "special" group - that we had a "different" calling than other churches, which was why we had to work harder and sacrifice more than the average christian.

  i just posted this information to a private email list, but i think it will be of interest to people on this board.. the following list of translators of the new world translation is a compilation from a variety of sources:.

  frederick w. franz: main translator.

  took liberal arts sequence at university of cincinnati; 21 semester hours of classical greek, some latin.

  what about the biblical truths explined by the witnesses?

  yes there are many things wrong with the organisation, but they did get a lot right - trinity, hell etc etc is anyone grateful for some of the teachings they received whilst being a witness?.

  Who says the society is right about the Trinity, Hellfire, and the Soul? I have seen convincing biblical arguments from both sides. Considering the bible is so ambiguous that it can be used to prove anything (just look at some of the nutty beliefs that fringe Christian groups have) this is not surprising.
