Mr. Flippers Son's Witness Mother Tells Him- "We Have to Store Up Food!"
by flipper inthis is an interesting thing .

" The society has told us we have to store up 3 days provisions in case we have to leave quickly and leave behind our homes in case of persecution or other things that will come up !"
Jamestown massacre and Kool-Aide mass suicide started on this paranoia. Somehow I believe this case is more like gossip than an order. 3 Day persecution??

Jehovah's Witness here.
by nimzo ini have a question about my religion.
when people turn apostate, why do they seem kinda... weird.
they turn back to false teachings and their bible knowledge even proves that.

He's sitting at home right now saying "stupid apostates, don't even do real research".
It is so sad that it is funny!!! He actualy believes that WT publications are the boundaries of real research. Why does he fear verifying his religion and policies?

You guys should try to do research on your own, without the help of anti-jws website or information. Theres two sites of the story, and you cannot believe one side without hearing the other side. Wow, if only if I could show you my collection of WTs articles and all the misquoted information I found. Yikes! :D
You will never achieve anything near 'research' if you rely only on Watchtower magazines:
*** Awake! October 22, 1973 p. 6 Examine the Evidence ***
Reasonable persons agree that the only fair method is to examine the evidence on both sides, both for and against a disputed theory. That is how one arrives at the truth.
*** Awake! November 22, 1984 p.3-4 An Open or a Closed Mind—Which Do You Have? ***
An Open or a Closed Mind—Which Do You Have?
[…]
What Is an Open Mind?
An open mind is free from the fetters of prejudice, which by one dictionary is defined as follows: "A judgment or opinion, favorable or unfavorable, formed beforehand or without due examination; a mental decision based on other grounds than reason or justice; especially, a premature or adversely biased opinion."
A necessary part of life is that we make decisions and reach judgments. But decisions made "without due examination" or judgments reached "on other grounds than reason or justice" are evidences of a closed mind.
Having an open mind, on the other hand, means to be receptive to new information and ideas. It means being willing to examine and to evaluate information without a biased attitude. By retaining what is worthwhile and rejecting what is worthless, we can reach definite conclusions on a solid basis and still leave our minds open to further revision should additional information become available at a future time. He who feels he has learned it all can be sure that this attitude will prevent him from ever learning more.
Why People Have Closed Minds
A closed mind may indicate lack of knowledge. We may know so little about a subject, or have information so distorted or incomplete, that the facts necessary to reach proper conclusions are missing.
But if you are still afraid of other sources here's a good start point:

Stick around for some thinking and sharing.

Gerard I'm sure you read thirdwitness websites about these topics.. so I think you should really consider whats being said on them.
No I am not aware of those thirdwitness websites and I will take a look. I applaud your curiosity. Now woud YOU be concerned with wthat the Supreme Court has to say about the 2-witness rule? Why did the WT just payed multi-million dollar settlement to some JW victims? Could it be that love is not that high in the GB's priority? How can the GB be so flawed?

Nimizo,
Most of us do not mind using the name Jehovah, but we do mind:
WTBTS being an NGO member for 10 years with the United Nations and signing a contract to forward its principles.
Sexual predators sheltered by the 2-witness rule, neglecting to notify authorities and making it a secret crime, and making it possible for them to continue their sexual perversions.
Paying $$$ to sexually abused children to avoid WT exposure (and loosing) in court.
Being prevented to study the Bible with our Jehovah-given critical thinking without fear.
Fabrication of false prophesies.
Leading thousands of people to the sacrificial Watchtower altar before accepting blood products. Remember tissue transplants?
WTBTS and it’s so called Governing Body takes over JESUS position as mediator between GOD and MAN. They have accused many others of doing the same thing while they do it themselves.

Ming the clam is 'oldest animal'
A clam dredged up off the coast of Iceland is thought to have been the longest-lived creature discovered.Scientists said the mollusc, an ocean quahog clam, was aged between 405 and 410 years and could offer insights into the secrets of longevity.
Researchers from Bangor University in north Wales said they calculated its age by counting rings on its shell.
According to the Guinness Book of Records, the longest-lived animal was an Arctica clam found in 1982 aged 220.
Unofficially, another clam - found in an Icelandic museum - was discovered to be 374-years-old, Bangor University said, making their clam at least 31 years older. The clam, nicknamed Ming after the Chinese dynasty in power when it was born, was in its infancy when Queen Elizabeth I was on the throne and Shakespeare was writing plays such as Othello and Hamlet.
Professor Chris Richardson, from Bangor University's School of Ocean Sciences, told the BBC: "The growth-increments themselves provide a record of how the animal has varied in its growth-rate from year to year, and that varies according to climate, sea-water temperature and food supply.
"And so by looking at these molluscs we can reconstruct the environment the animals grew in. They are like tiny tape-recorders, in effect, sitting on the sea-bed and integrating signals about water temperature and food over time."
'Escaping' old age
Prof Richardson said the clam's discovery could help shed light on how some animals can live to extraordinary ages.
"What's intriguing the Bangor group is how these animals have actually managed, in effect, to escape senescence [growing old]," he said.
"One of the reasons we think is that the animals have got some difference in cell turnover rates that we would associate with much shorter-lived animals."
He said the university had received money from the UK charity Help The Aged to help fund its research.

Easily verifiable proofs please

apologies i haven't introduced myself first, but i will do - just short of time right now.
in the meantime, please know i'm glad to have come to the knowledge i have and to have found sites like this one.

I think that you must first define exactly what you want to acomplish. Rocking the boat from every single possible angle can be fun but can also be terrifying if you don't have the economic means to support yourself and advance your studies.
Define your intentions and set an achievable strategy. Read a lot about it and discuss it here for a while before taking it to the family arena.
All the best.

Barbara Anderson's Paedophilia CD: The Watchtowers Chocolate Cake Defence
by Duncan ini received my copy of barbara andersons cd paedophilia in an american religion a month or two ago, and i have been reading through it since.. what follows, although i have called this a review, is in no sense a scholarly consideration of the legal merits of the cases described, a task for which i am wholly unqualified.
these are, rather, my subjective reflections on the material presented, the impressions i gathered while reading the legal filings, my untrained, common-man appraisal of the cases laid out in those documents.
ill also admit to being swayed by tone of voice adopted, and to using my own common-sense yardstick in determining the reasonableness of the statements made, the responses given and the arguments put forward.
