Hi
WELCOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
jurs
just a few days now, and her ladyship and i will be off on our travels abroad again.
i've lost count of the number of countries that we have visited, although i do still want to travel to oz at sometime.. as we have got older, and more free, we seem to journey abroad more often.
what i hadn't expected was the effect that travelling to other countries has on one's personality.
Hi Englishman,
I love to travel and I believe it has changed my outlook especially reguarding my own country. I appreciate living here more but I also see that in other countries its safer , not as much crime, and people are more laid back. I think my favorite country is Germany. Other than Italy, I haven't been anywhere that I didn't like. I found the Itallians to be quite rude and I believe I make much better spaghettii! !!!! I've been to England and I enjoyed the pubs VERY much!!!! I also loved the pasties. Its a great learning experience and its fun to visit with locals. In one pub ,in Tintangle, we played trivia and that was FUN.

wow, i'm sitting here at the bega library and the young girl sitting next to me saw me posting to a jw board and i am helping her understand the layout of this board.
she has been 'studying' for 6 years and has a lot of questions.
the local bros keep calling to encourage her meeting attendence etc... please give the young lady a warm welcome and help her once/if she registers.. i have recomended randy watters 'freeminds' site too.. g'day julie!!
Hi Judith,
I studied for a long time too. I wish that a site like this had been available to me when I started. Looking back I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I have 2 daughters that missed out on holidays , sports , having worldly friends and it was all for nothing. While I was a JW I felt so lonely. I never saw the "instant friendships" . Mainly, I regret going along with alot of little things that I didn't quite believe but thought its still the truth. I wish I would have trusted my instincts about how extreme and unbalanced the beliefs and people were. Finally , the fear and guilt that go hand in hand with being a JW and never being able to live up to whats expected. I went through all of this and now 10 years later I look at my bible and think how like the Pharisees the witnesses are. LOVE is not the predominant factor, rather RULES and JUDGEMENTALISM is. So often when I was a JW I heard how LOVE was the identifying factor of the true religion , now I look at it as identifying the true christian as an individual. One other point , Jesus said to come to HIM , he never said you had to go to an organization.....................Just something to think about.

I got in. Thats a great site. I don't know why I had trouble before but its working now. Thank you
jurs
today was one of the hardest days i've had yet since leaving jw.
i was barely able to work, and i have a knot in my stomach.. i look at the world situation and i feel so hopeless and helpless.
knowing there are millions of people outside of the u.s. that, if you were to put a button in front of them that had a label below it that said "kill every man woman and child in the u.s.a." that they wouldn't even hesitate to press it.. i wonder where it will end.
Glad your feeling better. The news can be depressing!!! I understand your comment about people hating us (americans). Alot of people around the world do. I've been able to travel some and its a bit disturbing how resentful people are of America . Thats just how life is.
Many people in other countries have had to deal with this sort of fear but this is new to us. 9/11 has made everyone realize that were more vulnerable.
The org. did offer comfort but it was a false comfort. Reality isn't always a bed of roses but its not all bad either. Stay away from the news for a while. !!!!! I think it would make anyone feel anxious.
On a lighter note. As far a depression goes............. I recently got my hairstyling liscence. If I do great colors and cuts I'm very happy, but when things go wrong Ugggggggggg ! I get so down. Unfortunately if I have a bad hair day so does someone else!!!!!
