well like i say, just got back from the memorial, have been going most years, but this year i went by chance (knew it was roughly at 7pm at the nearest kh) to my old congregation that i grew up in.
i didn't find the "evil" people spoke of here on this forum, or those too stupid to see.
all i did see was people i hadn't seen in years, and let me tell you, what lovely people they were.

I remember thinking how nice everyone was.............and you know what they are. Many JW's are very nice but its still a cult and those very nice people can be very cruel and all in the name of Jehovah. I was once the same way (i think I'm a nice person) but I'm ashamed at some of my unloving behavior because of my cult beliefs.

thanks for the replys. My husband and I talked when he got home from work. I told him I'm unhappy and would like to lead seperate lives until we can get divorced. It wasn't very emotional and he said "whatever" . I wouldn't feel a bit of guilt and I really don't understand the loss of self respect. I think I'd respect myself more for no longer being a doormat whose been treated like shit.
My husband and I bought a summer home in the mountains. Its a cabin and not too nice but its got electricity , water everything I'd need and I could move up there. Its close to a ski area and small towns where I could find a job. Its a real cool place and its beautiful. After we divide up our money I could build a small house. I'm sitting here thinking about how I can move on with my life.

It could be that I have a mouth and threaten alot and never back it up and he doesn't know I'm serious or that he really just doesn't care. An affair just might give me the courage to leave. Its weird but I'm scared to leave and I'm not talking about being abused. I'm scared to be divorced. I don't make that much money How will I make it on my own sorts of worries.. when I said I was tired of the way my life was , I didn't explain why. Besides my husband being abusive, alcoholic, and controlling.............we also rarely have sex. We didn't have sex on our honeymoon and its been rare in 14 years. He has no interest. He says he's tired but I swear he rejects me just to hurt me. I'm not dog meat. I take care of myself. The only time we make love is after I complain how long its been. Usually once every 2 months!!! The last few years I could care less. Anyhow a fling would at least provide some physical comfort. I really don't want more than that right now anyway. I have no desire for another man in my life to boss me around.

I've been married 14 LONG years to a real S.O.B. and I think I might just take that plunge. I was having a drink at a bar last week with a gal I work with. A guy sitting at the bar started to flirt with me and for the first time in my marriage I flirted back. I'm a hairstylist and the guy asked for my buisness card so that when he needed his haircut he'd come see me. Well he came 2 days later and he likes me I can tell. I don't have a strong attraction for him but then again I haven't had that woozey feeling for any guy since I've been 21 and thats been years ago. Well he called me today and came in again to have me trim his sideburns (it was an excuse) and told me he'd be at this bar if I wanted to stop by. I couldn't get the nerve up and finally several hours later I went but he had already left.
God only knows why I haven't left my husband. Our marriage is crap. This guy knows I'm married and so is he. I think their seperated but not for certain. I kindof like the idea of having a fling with someone where it really wouldn't go anywhere. I'm lonely and tired of the way my life is. I don't want a serious relationship a fling seems to be just the thing! Anyone ever had an affair?

i am wondering what the general concensus of this board would be?.
I wanted to add one more thing about us IGNORANT Americans. I happen to have worked with 4 Russians, 1 Indian from India, Mexicans,Cubans, Germans ect. ect. Prisca, in case you didn't know it, America is a big ol melting pot. I've learned alot of interesing tidbits and swear words from all parts of the world by visiting with those in my own community.

I suppose I'm guilty of the pariotism that Prisca describes but I wouldn't apologize for it. I like where I live. I like the freedom and opportunities I have here. Prisca's comment that Americans are ignorant because they don't have the opportunity to experience and learn what other countries have to offer is ridiculous. Of course whe have opportunity. We are free to travel. Our satilite dishes freely bring news from all parts of the world. We have opportunity to learn through newspapers the internet and books. What do you mean we don't have opportunity????? I can see making a statement like that about China for instance. They are restricted as far as info that they can receive.
Fortunately, I've had opportunity to travel to different countries to experience ,appreciate and learn from them. I loved Austria and Germany and could live there in heartbeat other places made me appreciate home and be thankful for what I had. I think that if someone believes that they live in the bestest counrty in the whole wide world then thats great!!! What I don't understand is why that drives other people nuts. I guess some people don't like to see other people happy and sucessful. Misery loves company.

Once in awhile I'll have a weird experience like the ones you've described. For instance, Someone will be on my mind for no apparant reason and I rarely talk to this particular person and then that very day the phone will ring and its that person. I've had that happen on a couple of occasions. I believe in telepathy. Sounds like a good book.
