  so some background -- i have two jw relatives.

  my grandma is something like 85 yrs old and has been a jw for most of her life.

  she pretty much believes everything from the wt and has dedicated her life to it.

  I am so glad that you brought this up.

  After my child graduated from high school some years back. It was suggested that it would be best if my child took a year or two to do full time FS work.

  I stated that if my child didn't go to college they wouldn't have any health coverage because at the time i was not working, and that while in college they would at least be covered, and my question was what if anything happens in FS, how would i pay the medical bills without insurance.

  The reply was wait on Jehovah.

  theres recently an article in a uk newspaper about a small boy whose family are at their wits end.

  it seems he will just run amok, create chaos and danger.

  hes been permently excluded from school because of hes terrible behaviour.

  Blatant misquote in the Origin of Life booklet

  i am trying to review the "origin of life" booklet, and i got to say that the more i look into it the worse it look.

  this particular quote puzzled me a lot (p. 28).

  one group of researchers used brain size to speculate which extinct creatures were more closely related to man admitted that in doing so, they often feel on shaky ground.. they took the quote from the preface of the "the human fossil record - volume 3" from 2004. .

  More Society cutbacks - Society says "screw you" to the publishers yet again

  at our service meeting it was announced that there is a change in the manner in which magazines are now to be delivered to the congregations.. up until now, magazines were sent to each kingdom hall via ups.

  in years past magazines were sent to each congregation po's home address via ups.. going forward, magazines will be sent only as far as the assembly hall.

  it is the responsibility of each kingdom hall to send brother(s) twice a month to drive out there, pick up the magazines, and return.. this of course saves a little bit of money for the society - shipping larger packages to fewer addresses will cost less.. however, what about the expense to the local congregations?.

  question: will the WTS foot his medical bills?

  Is the WTS required to follow the same safety guidlines and laws that every other business does?

  Or will they be exempt from any liabilty because the man was a volunteer?

  what was the worst advice given to you while you were a JW ?

  mine's was, if your job interfere with the meetings you have to decide who you will choose,.

  serving jehovah or serving man, if anyone knew my needs it most definitely was jehovah.

  and he knew i needed my job to eat.

  2 thessalonians 3:10 states: "If anyone does not want to work ,neither let him eat."

  It shows in the Bible through pauls counsel the importance of having a job.

  It's amazing how many things in the publications and even talks are opinion but made to appear as fact.

  at the convention recently, i can remember different reasons being given as to why the end is near.

  pick whatever one suits you best but basically it goes, 'because this and that has happened, the end is ever closer.'.

  well here are some of my ridiculous opinions stated as fact, just to prove a point.. if you put pepperoni on pizza, there is no way a person will reject it.

  Excellent point you make.

  Example: On page71 In the "Reasoning from the Scriptures" book states : " Similarly, any food to which whole blood or even some blood fraction has been added should not be eaten. "

  That is most definitly an opinion that was changed later on. And yes that says a lot. Because in the Aug 2006 Awake, on page 11- 12 it states: "As for the various fractions derived from those components- and products that contain such fractions the bible does not comment on these therefore, each witness makes his own personal decision on such matters."

  So if the Bible did not comment on these it was definitly an opinion which caused a lot of deaths.
