so, if you're sick to death of it, leave now, save yourselves.... anyhoo... as the wts has now unleashed on the world the true explanation of generation and what it means for those of us in this time of the end, dubs who accept without question this teaching are 'oohing' and 'ahhing' as the new explanation 'makes so much sense now'.

On pg 133 in "Reasoning from the Scriptures" it says: If any individuals or Organizations claim to represent God but decline to use God's personal name,and make it a practice to express their own opinions on matters,are they measuring up to this important qualification of a true prophet?"

The Watchtower Organization claim to be Gods only channel on earth. They use Jehovahs personal name. And they claim they don't use their own personal opinion on matters, but hold strickly to Bible principles. And we know what they uttered about 1914. SMELL LIKE A FALSE PROPHET TO ME!!!

Just because a person isn't baptised, doesn't mean that they were not affected by this dangerous cult . Even if you were an unbaptised publisher you still had to tow the line.

My family who none are witnesses, can't fathom what i went through and the pressure i was under. How fortunate for them. I was not a JW from birth. When i first started studying with them they told me that it was my decision to get baptized it was between me and Jehovah.

I found that not to be the case the longer i attended (5yrs) the more pressure i got to become baptized, when i started questioning about the things in the doctrine that confused me, i was told that i shouldn't question because this is from Jehovah.

This is only one of the reasons i choose not to get baptized , because i was not allowed to question, while studying with them they questioned my religion. I come to this sight because only the people here can understand. Now I realized that the life i had before the JW's was not bad at all. And it's even better now because i appreciate living in this lifetime more.

Sometimes i get mad at myself for listening to them and staying away from informative sites like this, but as time goes by that anger gets less and less.

why I like this site

i like this site (aside from the fact that we have the jw experience in common) because i have come to realize that all of you are very creative, interesting & courageous.

it takes a special person to exit the jw's.

we all of course are also very different & thats good because we can learn from each other.

Five years in 03- 08 then i started having questions that i needed answered. I notice the love turned to ice because of my questioning.

I even did like i was taught and showed them scripture to back up my claim that questioning was alright , James 1:5

i learned then that's not how the Org. work

i know five years isn't long, but in that short time, i missed out on so much with all of my non jw family and friends. Time i can never get back

i feel like i served time in jail. The good thing is, i found this site and great people to talk with, because my family can't fully relate. They can't truly understand what i feel because they haven't been there. How fortunate for them

Neither the Bible or Dictionary support the new light on the Generation

according to the governing body, the anointed who were on hand in 1914 will overlap the lives of todays anointed.

these two groups make up one generation.. "bull".

the bible supports the dictionaries definition of generation, matthew 1:1-17 shows abraham, isaac and jacob as three separate generations, verse 17 says: "all the generations, then, from abraham until david were fourteen generations.. the dictionaries definition say: all people born around the same time; a single stage in the descent of a family or group.

Thank you for your response djeggnog, when they use the illustration of F.W. Franz i get the assumpution that anyone born during his life time, for example: someone born in 1935 or as even as late as 1991, that becomes anointed is considered part of the second group. Each group is still considered a generation with Franz being part of the first. Franz group saw the start and the second group is to see the end. Thats the way i understand it, and when you put two groups which represents two individual generations into one, they are attempting to make one generation out of two. If they are trying to define a generation around a shared event, and the second group lives to be 99 yrs old like Franz thats almost two hundred years. This is not a short duration so it doesn't make sense to give one generation a life span that long. BTW i never stated that the bible supported this because it's nonsense

this is inspired by another thread, but heres something that always bugged me.... if god wanted to know if abraham really was faithful... then why didn't he use his abilty to look into his heart and find out?

instead of putting the poor man and his son through a near death/ murder situation??

Abraham questioned God's decrees before and was considered His friend.

Thanks Tammy, that reminds me of James 1:5, where it says: let him keep on asking God for he gives generously to all and without reproach. This however got me marked at the hall. I'm glad people on this site continue to ask questions that goes to show that our brains have not been paralyzed by the WTS.
