i think we can all gather that given the major doctrinal changes over the past few decades, a lot of books are now defunct for one reason or another whether that be doctrinal changes or simply that they are now inaccurate in line with todays teachings.. so which book convinced you that it was the 'truth' and brought you into the organisation and is it now defunct?.
mine was the knowledge that leads to everlasting life published in 2000. i don't know for sure, but i can't imagine that this book is completely accurate given the changes recently regarding generation..
I also studied from the knowledge book, and i was also told that what was writtten in that book was the truth.
now i know the real truth, and that is, REAL TRUTH NEVER CHANGES OR GROWS OLD, NEVER BECOMES DEFUNCT
AND NEW TRUTHS (LIGHT) DOES NOT CHANGE OR EXTINGUSH OLD TRUTH (LIGHT).
i thought i would share a few highlights of my experiences over the last six months here, since i know you guys will understand, and i felt like organizing in writing a little.
this week marks 6 months being officially out of the wts, although it was about a year coming before that.
here are some of the things i have been able to do for the first time that i (and my wife in some cases) probably would not have been able to do otherwise!

in 1991, one of the watch tower societys senior writers, colin quackenbush, told me in the privacy of his office about letters which the society had received from prominent and credible elders, not apostates (thats exactly what he said), who were concerned about the increase in accusations saying that jehovahs witnesses were false prophets.

Now see, i told you, i'm wound up now, turn to page 242 in the Reasoning book.
on the top page it says if the householder ask "How do you know that some future
generation won't fit the prophecy even better than this one.? In the answer it's saying
that it's not gonna be another generation to see the end but the generation of 1914 will be the one.
now at the DC they are saying the opposite. In the sept 15, 2010 Watchtower on page
13 paragraph 8 they state that what they write is straight from Jehovah not man. Now we know
Jehovah can't lie, so you tell me who the liar is. Tell me who lied to the generation of 1914.
And why use the word prophecy in that canned question if it wasn't a prophecy. That didn't
come true. FALSE PROPHETS

Another thing, every thing they teach isn't Bible based, It's from opinion, let me give you an
example. In the Reasoning book on page 71 it is stated that " Similarly, any food to which whole
blood or even some blood fraction has been added should not be eaten."
in the Aug 2006 awake on page 12 says: " the Bible does not comment on these. therefore
each witness makes his own personal decision on such matters." Hell, the Bible didn't mention
that when they first wrote this farse of a book, and look at how many people lost their lives!!!!!!
that was based on thier opinion!!!!. They claim they don't use personal opinion , and that blood fraction mess sure didn't come from the Bible

i hate to be the one to tell ya' but a lot of JW women go out of the faith, grab a man
and then go back to being a JW expecting the husband to be in tow. now scince you
mentioned that she used the reasoning book to school you with, let me tell you, that book
alone has more flaws in it than a corn cobb has kernels. And it even contradicts their new light
on the generation teaching and the blood policy, oh please don't get me started. But i guess you have.

thats what samuel herd said yesterday at the dc convention before he went on to say the end of the world was really near.
nobody even noticed anything when he told the audience the new generation understanding but everybody clapped when he presented the new "movie" haha the dubs need entertainment.. also i watched the drama and,... what a bunch of crap that it.
it was my first drama after being awake and what horrid acting it is.

I agree, K-12 is especially trying for JW kids who are told not to be normal
in a normal environment. School yard bullies have a field day with these children
adolesence is hard enough without having JW rules piled on top. Poor kids
are told to go to school and preach instead of having a normal childhood, WTF?
