Hit or Miss..

...most of my " new topic" threads seem to miss.... why is it some posters seem to be " celebrities" here and others like me get lost in the shuffle?.

The Gall & Hypocrisy!!

just got a call from my daughter that she got word that the jw honeywagon (literature stand) has set up in the university she teaches at.

one (and there are many) of the reasons we left was due to the stance on higher education, she was persecuted by the elders for attending the very university they are now set up in.

my daughter eventually got a masters degree overseas and now teaches at the same unversity, is self sufficent and will not have to eke out some pittance of a living while fighting a very delbilitating health condition.

Well my JW elder dad has lost his job...

as a little background, my dad became a jw in 1980 i think, went to bethel, married my mom in 86' went back for another year and then i came along... he worked in the auto repair shop at bethel while he was there, and upon leaving, continued working in this field.

my whole life they have been the type of jw parents that tell you how you will never get to high school, never graduate it, never get married in this system, never have children in this system etc.. i say this to illustrate the end is just around the corner attitude they have always had, probably because they fully bought/buy into the hype at the conventions/wt articles.

my father has no plan in place for retirement, and he is physically slowing down doing such hard laborious work.

there may be times when he and his wife want a quiet evenin' at home

and his parents may want the " friends " over

They have an empty nest. No need to worry if their bed squeaks and who might hear it

If they want they can jump right out of the shower air dry through the house while they dance

to thier favorite song

There are instances where I would take a family member in

if an emergency arise, but I wouldn't allow them to inconvenience me permanently

to make it easier for them to do as they please

hi everyone .

it was not my intention to write here anymore, but i found things that caught my interest, things that i feel to share in the hope of someone finds it interesting.. the core is that the wt surprisingly admits that what "we" believe in, is after all, only opinions (awake 2000 june 22 page9-11 "do not be a victim of propaganda).. anyone with a scan of thiese pages would make my day ;-) the questions/arguments below are built around this:.

Yes, they even emphasized the All

But later they point out in thier own literature, that one of thier standards

that caused many to die needlessly , was in fact not Bible based

.

On page 71 in the Reasoning book

The Society said that whole blood is equated to idolitry and fornication

and that even a fraction should be avoided

.

Come to find out, this was not Bible based but an opinion

from men, who told the sheep " What to think "
