  Are the WTBS the modern day Pharisees and Saducees

  i've been thinking about this for sometime now and i wanted to know how other people felt about this comparison.

  the pharisees were known for hypocrisy and for also promoting traditions of men and other non-bibical teachings.

  when we look at the wtbs in light of the actions of the pharisees there are some amazing similarities.

  Another thought. It was only the Pharisees and Saducees that our lord condemned by calling them "Offspring of vipers" and that they were "from their father the devil."

  They were who was "shutting up the kingdom" to the sheep, binding them with heavy loads of the law that THEY themselves were unwilling to touch. Concerned with works of the law (the temple or organization and suporting it) than with truth and true love. (No matter what you read, its not "truth" til it comes out in the WT)

  They were condemning sheep that wanted to pur faith in Christ at the time and not allowing them to follow him or as today come into union with him by "partaking." It is ANYONE that can eat and drink. It is the means by which one will live forever. JOHN 6:48-58

  So because of their bloodguilt, they will carry a heavier judgement.

  some of you asked why in the world we go to the kingdom hall to partake of the emblems at memorial when we don't believe in them anymore?

  I appreciate your concerns. We actually did cover "all the basis" that you mention.

  You said "How about a one on one?"

  We went FIRST one on one to family and friends. But remember we were disfellowshipped for "Apostacy", their biggest fear. They didn't give us the time of day.

  You said "How about the subtle approach?"

  We called, visited, and even wrote to family and friends. We figured writing would be "subtle enough" since we were not in person, they had nothing to fear and worry about anyone seeing them talking to us.
  My husbands mother told us not to send anyhting else in the mail as she throws it in the fire before she will even open it. So, we stopped the subtle letter approach for a while, but continued to send updated family portraits in the mail, only to have them "returned to sender."

  So.......

  any other suggestions?

  Folks during the flood time thought Noah and his family were "wacko" "nutto" I'm sure. Did it stop them?

  Christians in the first-century were persecuted, stoned to death and thrown to the lions. Did it stop them?

  Our lord warned us that his true followeres would be persecuted as he was. A slave was no greater than his master.

  So since he hasn't asked me to build an ark yet, offer my only-begotten son, stand in the Roman arena, give my life on a torture stake and die a criminal.... I figure the least we can do is continue to look a "little foolish" to our families and friends and not give up on them.

  I am home. Had a great day!

  Where did I leave off:

  We had a meeting at this point with our brothers. We were best friends with them. They said they heard that we were starting to have apostate thinking. (I hate that word) They use it on anybody they want. lol
  We met, then they had a judicial committee meet with us and of course their decision was since they asked us if anyone came to us, would we speak about this to them, which we said "ABSOLUTELY" then they were forced to take action. They disfellowshipped us. Of course it took almost 5 months before the announcement because we appealed it and met with out-of-town brothers who we thought might have an open heart. JOKE!!! We then wrote letter after letter to the society, certified mail to EVERY governing body member only to have a "Peter Brown" sign for ALL of them and hear NOTHING!

  Before the announcement was made our families had already completely stopped all contact. Bam...overnight.....Our three sons, then 12, 8 &6 lost their grandparents, aunts uncles, cousins and friends overnight also. They had a rumor going around just to make it worse that we had started our own church, and that we were possibly molesting our children. That was below the belt!

  Eight months later which my husband was partners with his father and brother in a sanitation business, his dad and brother no longer wanted to work even business with him as he was the "worst of the worst". He was forced to sell his share of the partnership and become jobless overnight. The blessing that came out of this was for two years he was home with us and our boys and we grew together both spiritually, mentally, and emotionally with our kids. They really needed us at this time and I'm glad we had that time. It was the hardest period as we live also in a small community of Mt. Shasta Ca and we see family and witnesses almost everyday.

  But spiritually and as a family we have NEVER been happier. We are closer to our boys than we ever were inside. We never had time for them.

  We have come to learn that we were grossly misled into believing they, the WTBS were the truth, when there is only ONE truth and it is not a place or a where but a whom! JOHN 6: 68

  After so many years of believing it and finding out they are wrong, we became physically sick for a few days. It was weird.

  Jesus is "the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE." JOHN 14:6 He is also "The WORD" at John 1:1 and the one who sanctifies us at JOHN 17:17, "Sanctify them by means of the truth, your Word is truth."

  He is also the one who "sets us free" as JOHN 8:32 and GALATIANS 5:1
  and tells us NOT to be YOKED in slavery under man again.
  That we must come to HIM at MATTHEW 11:28-30 and go through HIM at JOHN 10 as "The door" and not through a visible, legal corporation who calls themselves "the visible representation of Christ on earth."

  Proclaimers book (JV) page 219 par 1-4
  Anyone else who calls themselves 'the door' or claims we must go through them or it isn't truth until it comes through them is a theif and a plunderer as mentioned in JOHN 10!

  Jesus said HIS covenant was open to "ANYONE" at John 6:48-58 not just 144,000. Partaking at memorial doesn't mean you say you are 'anointed', all it is saying is that you what to come into union with Christ, belong to him and have life forever through him.
  JOHN 15:1-7

  Even the twelve disciples the night before Jesus' death in the upper room had NOT YET BEEN anointed. Remember it was 50 days LATER that Jesus spoke about and mentioned the "helper, the holy spirit, would come and teach them ALL things." JOHN 14-17
  It was on Pentecost that holy spirit was "poured out" (anointed all in the upper room) and the disciples were among them.
  So they "ate and drank" BEFORE they had been anointed.

  Holy spirit is not called "a FREE gift" for nothing. Jah says ask for it. JOHN 4:10 ACTS 2:38 8:20 10:45 11:17 LUKE 11:13 It is between you and him ALONE, not a group of men or organization to determine that.

  You see, when Christ didn't return n 1878 and 1914 the way the IBS prophesied he would, they too became tired and murmered just like the Israelities in the wilderness so shortly after being freed from bondage in Egypt. They, the then anointed, wanted an earthly king, one they could see just like Israel did in appointing Saul.
  They like the Israelites wanted a "golden calf" (one they could see) to worship when they (the WTBS) KNEW full well Jah did not dwell in handmade temples anymore. So, rebellious and stubborn as Jahs people have always been and still are, built a "golden calf", a beautiful solid gold organization. And continues to "donate" all their gold and silver to it (monies, will, trusts, etc). Only to find out that they too have been misled into "apostacy" and will eventually be destroyed if they choose to go down with it.

  Who said we interupted ANYTHING? We went in peacefully and left peacefully.........

  Question:
  To the pharisees and Jewish system that felt they were the true religion and Abrahams seed....Do you think Jesus was showing TRUE love by telling them "their form of worship was unacceptable and false to its power. That they were hypocrites, shutting up the kingdom, concerned with the LAW over LOVE and that their temple was going to be destroyed.??"

  Maybe not to them AT THE TIME obviously but it was ONLY LOVE that motivated him to beg and plead and die for them.

  Hello JBean and thank you for your kind response

  I put THIS thread up in response to the other one as to the question, "Is ANYONE really welcome at the memorial?" There were a lot or views on this.

  But we are truly blessed in that Jah through his son opened our eyes and NOT ONLY showed us their error, but showed us the real truth and where to go.

  I may not have time to finish as I am getting ready for work but I will finish later. You may email me ANYTIME. I am here for you.

  Four years ago we started seeing a lot of weird things happening to friends that had professed to be of the anointed. They would write into the society, call them and share "food at the proper time" as they as domestics help make up the faithful slave class.
  Unfortunatley some of the things they were writing were not in full agreement with the society and therefore the society was either caling them "apostates" or "pushing ahead."
  That bothered me as I always suported the anointed to furnish ME with spiritual food and trusted them. Why the division NOW.
  So I started reading and praying like never before. I asked "WHY" Jehovah, please do not let me be misled. Show me what is happening. I trust you! "Show me the BIG PICTURE!"

  When I read the Bible I started reading it apparantly not knowing at the time that the holy spirit was teaching me truly. I knew I had read it before, but never in this light. I heard a voice in my heart say, "Do not trust in nobles nor in earthling man to whom NO salvation belongs." I thought I hadn't before this.
  Also, I heard, remember Solomon, "To the making of many BOOKS there is NO end and the studying of them is wearisome to the flesh." ECCLESIATES 12:12,13
  WOW! The society publishes a BOOK for every subject. And explains it's meaning from THEIR point of view. Books, magazines, booklets, tracts, etc.......

  I remember the society taught that the Watchtower magazine is NOT inspired...although it is where we receive our latest "food at the proper time" Inspired life-saving food from a magazine that is un-inspired. That really didn't make sense now. Not being inspired opens the way for "mistakes" "opinions that become doctrine".

  When I realized this and starting reading and listening to the spirit for what it said and not allowing man to teach me, I too found division and error.

  I knew at this time my husband and I must share with our brothers what we see and are reading. BIG MISTAKE!!!!!!!!

  I, being ignorant, felt we as pillars in the hall and strong JWs had some credibilty to our words. WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!
  At least I felt they would see even if they could not agree.

  Well, that opened up the can of worms called, "Apostates" and I will finish this afternoon. Thanks

  Hello again....

  DEAR JOSEPH: Thank you for the advice. On many occasions we wonder, "WHY BOTHER?" They will never hear it.
  And on many occasions we have used the WTBS mentality to try and support "truth" We have called, even written the societies so-called anointed, the legal and writing committees. We have tried to make personal visits to our families. Yes, at least to this point it has looked like "to no avail" but that is not entirely true. They will NEVER be able to look back and say, someone did not try and show them. Also, many question in their hearts and from time to time we never know when the father may draw them and something they heard "clicks" Remember ROMANS 10:14-15

  So this is why even though for the minute it may seem like nothing is sinking in. But I do have faith that EVENTUALLY to someone, LOVE will conqueor!

  Hello to everyone today

  Some of you asked why in the world we GO to the kingdom hall to partake of the emblems at memorial when we don't believe in them anymore? Was it JUST to cause an irritation? Or what?

  Well let me answer PLEASE.

  Whether or not it caused an irritation was NOT our intention. It was obvious that it did though. Why then you ask?

  1. My husband and I were born and raised INSIDE the org, our whole life of almost 35-37 years. Married in the kingdom hall, both sides of family are witnesses, we pioneered, housed circuit and district overseers, gave public talks, and talks on the assembly program. Had bookstudy and meeting for field service at our homes and welcomed any and all! SO YOU SAY.....

  Well EVERYONE WE LOVE AND KNOW are inside. They are our people and family "Israel." Those that profess to be Jehovahs true people, the true religion of today. So.... whenever Jahs people have left him as a whole, profaned his name and covenant (left it), someone HAS ALWAYS been used to help SHOW THEM.

  The spirit of Jah that dwells in us moved us to try and HELP our loved ones and friends. The scriptural you could say, mission:

  EZEKIEL chapter 3,
  DANIEL 11: 31-35
  JOHN 6:48-58
  JEREMIAH chapter 7

  So we went to try and show them the important danger of what they have overstepped and how they in denying the covenant causes THEM to commit "apostacy."

  As to whether they "hear or refrain then" puts the responsibilty upon their shoulders and not mine. I am bloodguilt free. At various times we continue to try and reach our family and show love to them, but still to no avail.

  You may have you own opinions about this. But my love for my family and my Lord compelled us to do this.

  And to answer the latter part. YES we do partake regularly AT HOME with our children. That is where we worship also by "following the lead of our lord" walking by faith and no longer by man, and understanding truly how Jah does not dwell in handmade temples anymore but inside "people" as the true temple today.

  So that is .....the rest of our story!

  hello to everyone this memorial season...... yes another memorial season is upon us and a lot of talk and questions as to: how many will eat and drink?

  Yes another memorial season is upon us and a lot of talk and questions as to: How many will eat and drink? What will be the number? Is it going UP? Or is it finally going DOWN?
  To most of us on the outside now who have finally seen the WTBS for what it REALLY is, it may not really matter any more.

  But to those that support the organization and think that the kingdom halls are REALLY “public meeting places” and that ALL are truly invited to the memorial, let me share this with you ALL.

  A question was asked by writerpen as to those that have been disfellowshipped and attend the memorial and whether or not the emblems are passed to them….
  Some replies are that they are always welcome and that of course the emblems would be passed.

  Well, I would like to enlighten you ALL with regard to this.
  MY husband, who ate and drank for 10 years inside the org, myself, and three sons who some of you know us from the board in the past, went to the memorial last year and started to enter into the kingdom hall. A brother was at the door waiting for us and told us that if we entered we could expect the worst. They would call the authorities and have us removed. Just then, the PO and another elder came out and told us we were NOT welcome and that it was private property and that if we tried to come in they would call the police.
  I said, “ This ISN’T a public meeting facility?” They said, “Yes, it is, but not to us.”( this took place 2001, in the U.S.A. northern California, Mt Shasta cong of JWs.)
  So we told them we would peacefully take our leave.

  The year prior, we attended the memorial after we had been disfellowshipped. We ate and drank when the emblems were passed and that was what caused this reaction this time. They were NOT going to have it again. Us coming in and sitting among them and dare to partake of something THEY feel we should not partake of.
  We preach that yes it is a personal matter between the individual and Jehovah.

  Friends that is a LIE LIE LIE and you ALL know it!
  They DO NOT and WILL NOT have ANYONE now partake and enter into this covenant. There are MANY who want to because they KNOW it is scriptual and the invitation is open to them at JOHN 6:48-58. It is the means by which we are to have everlasting life. They feel this calling but fear of what this organization will say and do to them prevents them from doing so.
  So, they do exactly what the Pharisees did by “shutting up the kingdom” and the covenant to those that are Israel. Which is exactly what Jehovah’s Witnesses call themselves.

  So, I wanted to share this to any and all who might take it to heart and once again see just far these people as a whole have gone to leave Jah and reject an open covenant of everlasting life.

  he is a victim of his fears.. watchtower played on our fears of taking risks in life.
