  I don't get it - Praying before eating while ...

  i noticed recently.

  there was an item in the news on some terrible / horrific child pornography in germany.

  really disgusting to hear what these people were doing with children as young as a few months.

  Lancelink: Welll, that's a possibility. Good point. At any rate, continuing with my comment from yesterday, about the person at the Karl's Jr. restaurant. I don't know what kind of vehicle that he came to the restaurant in. But, if he came in a car, or van, or truck, or motorcycle, or even a mo-ped....I wonder if he offered up a "thanksgiving" prayer before pumping gasoline into its fuel tank at a gas station? If yes, then...Why? Did the deity somehow "miraculously" make the fuel supply in the tanks that are underground at the gas station, appear? Nope, that's not how it got there. It was brought there by the driver of a tanker truck/trailer, and pumped into the underground tanks for that driver. Well, just my musings...Best Regards

  Since We Are In 2020 What Do You Miss?

  i miss listening and dancing to live music on a weekend night.. i miss going into a crowded mall store to window shop.. i miss going out into public and not having to wear a mask.. i miss seeing people freely mingle on a busy street or sidewalk.. what a difference a year makes!.

  I miss the local County Fair, in the county where I live; the County Fair Board, back in March, decided to cancel it. (It was the "highlight" of Summer, for me) I also miss some of the local home-town parades that had to be cancelled. Oh well.....Best Regards to all.

  Well, I'd like to weigh on this, with a scenario that I observed at a---well, I'll mention the name of the fast food chain---Karl's Junior----here in California. This goes back some time, maybe 10 years or so. I was at the Karl's, and a young gentleman at a nearby table was near me, waiting for his order to be brought to him. When it was brought to his table, he proceeded to offer a "pre-eating" prayer. Now, I don't know WHAT religion he professed; Christianity, Judaism, pastafarianism---I do not know. But, it started me thinking....WHY is he praying to some deity for his food that was just brought to his table? And WHAT was he praying and thanking the deity for? The food, itself? What about the tray that it was resting upon? He had a beverage in a paper cup. What about the cup, and the drinking straw that he was using? Was he also thanking god for the paper wrapping that wrapped whatever sandwich that he was about to eat? Why didn't he just thank the cooking staff at that Karl's that had PREPARED the food for him? What about the person who brought the tray to him? What about thanking the Karl's Jr. food chain for being there? I mean, Did some deity just "magically", miraculously make the food appear on that table top? I wondered, What, exactly was he offering up a thankful prayer for? Those are the questions that went through my mind. Best Regards, all

  Flu Vaccine Now REQUIRED For All Students Going To School In Massachusetts

  this is a requirement now in massachusetts.

  children must get a flu shot by december 31. some allowances are made for religious reasons and health reasons.. personally, i don’t agree with the government making this mandatory.. what is your opinion?

  Mr. Minimus: Well, IF the State of Massachusetts has made it required---mandatory---then the State of Massachusetts should pay for the flu shot. I hope that is what the situation is there.

  Personally, I HAVE received a flu vaccination most years, during the past 25 years. I have no problem with getting one. And, they seem to work, for me. There was one year, 1997, I think, when I got a flu shot in early September, but by the end of the year, I "picked up" some flu that was going around. Perhaps it was a strain of some flu that was not effective with the "concoction" that I received a few months earlier. But, that was the only year that that happened. Best Regards, all

  i see ken flodine spelling saying in the new zoom assembly that you should meditate.

  when i was in the cult that was a huge no no.

  it was called blanking your mind and the demons could take control.

  Well, there is a certain kind of "meditation" that I have known about for the past 20 years or so, called "mindfulness meditation." (And I try to incorporate it into my own life) With that kind of meditation, a person, doesn't go through life, and its routines, on "automatic pilot", but uses all of their given senses to become "mindful", or aware, of everything that they do. In the past few years, there have been special publications at stores that explain mindful meditation, and its benefits in life. I wonder if THAT is the kind of meditation the meets with the approval of the WTBTS? Could be, could be....Best Regards, all.

  JW's and the National Anthem/Flag

  one thing we were always taught in the past is how we should sit down and pray (kneel) to jehoober whenever we were at an event where they played the national anthem.

  we had to actively disrespect the flag and anthem and be no part of the world, because we were our own country with jesus as king.. given kneeling/sitting for the national anthem is now the favorite pastime of the far-left and if you do so, you get associated with democrats, how do jehovah's witnesses now 'become no part of this world' when they have to disrespect the flag?.

  Well, Folks, the way that I understood it, while growing up, was that we were NOT to DISRUPT the Pledge of Allegiance, or the playing of the National Anthem. That, as we were told, would be showing disrespect for the ceremonies. In other words, those who chose to salute the flag and pledge allegiance, or rise during the National Anthem, were not to be interfered with. That was their RIGHT to do so. . It was also our right to refrain from participating, but refrain in a quiet respectful manner. I hope that helps.....Best Regards, all.....Titch.

  It's Shark Week on TV ... anybody watching the shows?

  with the virus thing going on, there's more tv time here in the rub a dub household.. watching jaws for the 20th time still is fun.

  then all the killer stingray, whales and other sea creatures is interesting.. we watched moby's dick last night.

  it's an old classic like jaws.

  Just as a side-note, here in the U.S., there has been a publication, produced by the Time Magazine organization, at stores, a "commemorative" issue regarding the 45th anniversary of the release of "Jaws". I bought a copy. I also remember back in 2000, "People" Magazine had a special issue to remember the movie, and stories about the cast members, and where they were at the time. That year was the 25th anniversary of the movie. Best Regards, Folks...

  Well, there are two that were the "creation" of Mr. David E. Kelly: Picket Fences (my all-time favorite), and The Practice. (Mr. Kelly, being an attorney in a previous life, wrote several episodes of those shows, based upon his legal expertise.) From years gone by, The Fugitive, The Invaders, and The FBI, which were "Quinn Martin productions." And,, how about from the late 60s and early 70s: The Andy Williams Show, and from 50 years ago, The Ray Stevens Show (aka, Andy Williams presents The Ray Stevens Show) I'm sure I'll think of some more, as the day progresses.
