Slidin' Fast: I think that you might have meant JIM Jones. (Of Jonestown fame)

i see this phrase a lot: "the indication of a cult is what happens when you leave.
" i'm not sure where that originated, but it is a faulty categorization.
"cult" is almost always used in a derogatory way.

Folks: Just as a side note....Years ago, when I looked up the word "cult" in a dictionary, I found out that the word "cult" comes from the Latin word "cultus"...which means, "to till". Such as in "tiling soil, or tilling land." And, from that word "cult" we get the word "cultivate" and "culture." They come from the same "root word" which is "cultus." Just thought I'd mention it. WTWizard: You know, you are constantly referring to the COVID vaccinations as a "torture shot". In what way is it a "torture shot"? How does it "torture" you or anyone else? Care to enlighten us on this matter, please? I have had three vaccination shots, and in no way did I think that they were torture. Thank you.----Titch
i would love to hear from anyone who may have encountered the following the traveling overseers:.
david wesley - an incredibly kind and humble man.
just the most down-to-earth co you'll ever find.
MillenialDawn: I do remember Angelo Manera, having seen him at District Assemblies in Southern California. I recall him from an assembly at The Forum, in Inglewood, California, way back in 1968.

so, folks, 60 years ago, starting on september 1st, i believe, we, local witnesses in southern california, had the "privilege" of attending the "around the world assembly", at, of all places, the rose bowl, in pasadena.
(i think that it was an 8-day assembly) i was 9 years old then, almost ready to start 4th grade.
so, was anyone else, on this site, at that assembly?
Sarahsmile: I was then associated with a congregation----a "congo"--- in Costa Mesa, not far away from Westminster. But, I did not attend the assembly in San Francisco, just Pasadena. And, Tenyearsafter, you could very well be correct about the assembly being a 7-day assembly. Either day, 7 days or 8 days was "brutal." (The next assembly that was long, that I can remember, was the 1969 "Peace On Earth" Assembly, held in Dodger Stadium. Looking back in retrospect, I have to ask myself, What was the point of it all? At this old of 69, I could have the number of days wrong. Oh well. Best Regards, Everyone.....Titch.

Dagney: You are correct. The chairs could be attached to the cement bench with clips, on the bottom, that were spring-loaded---and, they had a soft back unit. It made sitting at the Rose Bowl somewhat more tolerable. I remember, on the last day, I stayed at home with my Dad, but my Mom went to the Convention. The next morning, I woke up to find the "Babylon" book on a desk next to my bed. Also at that Convention, they released a thick edition of the New World Translation, filled with many references. "the son is born of the father by generation, but generation should not be understood in the everyday sense.
the son is derived from the father through pure spiritual generation, through the unlimited sharing of his essence.
so, the birth of the son is an intellectual activity of god.".

I still remember the special stadium chairs that we used, to make sitting there just a little bit more comfortable. Otherwise, if you did NOT have them, you had to sit on the stiff, concrete benches of The Rose Bowl. So, does anyone else remember having that fun of attending the Around The World Assembly, back in 1963? I do believe that two publications were released at that assembly---"Babylon The Great Has Fallen, God's Kingdom Rules" , and "All Scripture Is Inspired Of God." Best Regards, Everyone......Titch.
certain forces appear to be trying to make sure donald trump never runs for president again.
some republicans are clearly abandoning trump and of course the democratic press has been saying trump is done!
is trump’s goose cooked?
Of course many things could happen between now and November 2024. But, what if---WHAT IF----at the 2024 Republican National Convention---the Republican Party, collectively---decides to NOT nominate Donald J. as its Presidential Candidate? Then What ? What's he going to do then? Start ranting and raving, jumping up and down and screaming about "nomination fraud"? Or, will he run as a "third-party" candidate perhaps. Maybe the "Truth Social" Party? On the other hand, what if he IS nominated by the Republican Party to be its Presidential Candidate? I just wonder---who would be willing to run as his Vice-Presidential running mate? I wonder about that.
I am registered to vote, but NOT as a Republican. If I were a registered Republican, and Michel Pence was listed on the California Primary Election ballot, I would vote for Pence, because I have MUCH MORE respect for Mr. Pence than I have for Mr. Trump.---Best Regards, Everyone---Titch
