ya there you have it (sorry it didn't work for you). It is rare to let that fly.. we had a letter about it and then some "verbal" instructions that negated the little loup hole in the letter.. maybe I can find it, but essentially it seems the branch does not want to open that door

Is there a new 'rule' about disfellowshipping which can make it null and void?
by whitman infirstly, if anyone involved in this situation is reading this i hope i haven't overstepped the boundaries by raising this question here.
i'll try to keep it as anonymous as possible.. so folks this is the situation.
it has just been brought to my attention that during some type of shepherding call to a a disfellowshipped person who is experiencing serious mental illness as a result of the situation and the shunning from his family (his father is an elder), an interesting twist of events occurred.. one of the 'shepherding' elders asked the d.f-d person whether they had prayed and dedicated his/her life fully to jehovah before the baptism.

I would, but I just dont have the head/face for it. I also have a very full head of hair. But when and if the time comes I will definatly shave it close ( a few inches) and keep it tight and neat rather than some sort of comb over

when i first moved to ottawa i knew a woman who had shaved all her hair off and had tattoos all over her head - bizarre but interesting.. a few actresses have done it and they look fabulous although not all do and i doubt most men would love it.. for you fellows that shave bald - why do ou like it.

This is not new BTW. This goes way, way back, HOWEVER it is a VERY tight (sorry bad place for innuendo) loop hole (innuendo again). The first question "we" (elders) are supposed to ask, and the first question the branch will ask, is "did the person ever Pioneer or sign their name on any type of application for special service".. cause if so that is taken as a sign that you were indeed dedicated. It goes deeper, but essentially it is very very very hard to make that stick. I suspect that this person had some sympathetic elders who were trying to help find a loop hole (damn innuendo again) and worked it out for the person. The cult is not in the habit of letting people make up excuses to leave with no repercussions. Sorry. Few if any of us will skate that easily....

by cinnamon1642 inback in june it was mentioned that some individuals had this book and could possibly scan it and post it within a weeks time.
was anyone able to scan a full copy of the 2004 version and post it somewhere?

my biggest complaint with Eddie, is that on somelevel he squandered his talant. Think about it... he wrote all fo their orginal material (they did a lot of covers as well) and was a PIONEERING guitarist. He was the late 70's and 80 inovatior. all of these guys today who use the "hammer on, hammer off"... that came from eddie.. two hands on the frett board.. so much he did and started.. and yet wasted so much that we will never see on drugs.. If he had been clean I wonder what he would have done.. I wonder what he could have produced... Every time I go see them in concert I get a little sad when he does his solo.. eruption was fantasitc. In 1979. Its been over thirty years edd write a new one.. improv it man! you are a guitar GOD!!! but instead we get rehash.. like I say I LOVE VH, both Roth and Hagar, but I am sad over what I personally think ed wasted

Van Halen has been my favorite band since I had a raido!!! On their last tour ( with wolfie on bass) I took a yonger brother in my hall to show him what real rock guitarist looks/sounds like. Frankly over the years I started to be very disapointed in eddie. He has not inovated in a loooong time and that was why I respected him so much.. but nonetheless I still crank all their old albums, anything David or Sammy is great!!!
Unchained is their greatest song, IMHO

Just watched Avatar! Great film
by AK - Jeff inwe just watched it from standard dvd format on our 36" flatscreen.
it was a good flick - but i bet it is fabulous in 3d and theater quality.. jeff.
