  Believe it or not, another brief elder encounter yesterday...

  it was another elder from my judicial committee, came up to me after i'd strapped my daughter into the car.

  two things that struck me as different were (1) he didn't feel a need to bring a second elder along with him as if something that required two witnesses was going to be said by someone who'd been df'd for two years and 99.9% absent from meetings as well, and (2) he actually seemed genuinely friendly.

  he simply asked if i was planning to come to the meetings again anytime soon.

  And sd, there in lies the flaw for you and i and others like us... We trade small concessions in the way of religion for a few moments of imaginary peace. They will never be satisfied. From personal experiance i can tell you that even if you were an elder it wouldnt be enough. Its never enough because its flawed from the start. We arnt accepted for who we are.

  In the end, make those small conessions because they are right and proper and buy you anplace in your kids life. But dont expect anything in return. She thinks you'll be back and will always, deep down, think you are just one step away.

  Experience with Former Elder regarding contributions at Conventions

  i recently had the opportunity to visit with a former elder who has successfully faded without getting df'd, but he is completely aware of the sham.

  he was the main accounts guy for the conventions in his circuit.

  he related a very telling story to me the other day that i thought i would share with you.

  i have a question for the author of the website jwfacts.

  as i was reading the sparlock article, i couldn't help but notice something seriously wrong:.

  "the bible abounds in vivid fantasy, such as its many celestial descriptions, or the portrayal of warring kingdoms with imaginary beasts.. the sparlock message is confusing, as much for an adult as for a child, as the bible shows that god's followers practice magic, even if they are usually referred to as miracles.

  If the only differance between a miracle and magic is the source...... How do you determine the source? Bear in mind, according to you, same act, se result, only differance is the source....

  Lol wow! So the same exact action, turing a staff into a snake, with the same end result is done by different means.... One is "magic" one is a "miracle". Please define what differantiates the two....

  The assembly overseer is just an elder from the local cuircit who is appoimtedto oversee arrangments for the covention and essentially be the front man for the circuit. He may not have anything in writing... It may come from the DO... But i asked and heard with my own ears the explanation

  Proof is difficult. The way this works is the local elders are called into a "buissness Meeting" where these things are presented to all the local elders. No written documentation is given to us, its all verbal. Only the assembly overseer has something written...

  100% accurate momma.... And this year the per publisher rate is 4 per pub per congregation assigned to attend in the usa. I asked and gOt a break down for my cuircit:

  " expenses" were over all listed at about 10k (i had exact numbers, im rounding to preserve some semblance of my annomity cause im in a cult)

  Of that 10k, only 1500 were actual expenses related to operation! The richmond assembly hall was paid for long ago (as most are are if they is a mortgage its held by the branch anyway!). So the 1500 was essentially electricity, water and general upkeep items.. Fair enough. 1000 (again general number for purpose of discussion) people for two days use a lotta essentials... So i asked what the hell the other 8500 was.....

  Branch 'suggested' donation. At 4 per person thats $4000. But wait!!! EE, thats only $5500, not 10k....

  Its $4 per pub... Per day. So for a two day event thats 8k, plus the 1500, along with speaker expenses (bethel speaker, DO and CO) of $500 takes you to 10k

  And 8k of it is strait to bethel for no specified reason beyond a 'suggested' donation per publisher. This is a real life example from just a few weeks ago. Dishonest in the extreme to call that an 'expense associated with the assembly'.
