What was the last thing you said to your jw family?
by caves in7 years ago i had my last conversation with the toxic jw that mostly raised me.
every conversation was toxic for my entire adult life with her.
the last time we spoke was right before the memorial 7 years ago and she was laying on the usual heavy guilt and fear mongering about how jeho counts his people at the memorial.

So many JW mothers are the same. Emotionally manipulative, controlling, playing God, trying to impose their will on their children. They act the same as the organization that they serve/love/hate.
JW mothers are the main reason people have such a hard time leaving this cult and getting on with the next phase of their life.

The Governing Body / Jehovah`s Witnesses and the Sin Of Omission ,How guilty are they ? Can you give an example ?

The "Shepherd" book says that joining a non-neutral organization is a DF'ing offense (see below)
So you CAN get DF'ed for joining GreenPeace, the UN, or similar. The boys club in Brooklyn, however, gets to make up their own rules because they think they are appointed by God. They take this as permission to PLAY God and they do so, ruining the lives of thousands of "little ones". Truly Pharisaical. A double standard.
Matthew 23:13 applies to them in full
The fact that they never apologize demonstrates their spiritual arrogance.

Newspaper reports: Dutch government will initiate inquiry into child abuse within JW community
by Anders Andersen intoday a dutch newspaper published an in-depth follow-up item on jw abuse issues.. the most interesting part of the article is this:.
the politicians also let themselves be heard.
a month ago the house of representatives voted unanimously in favor of a motion to enforce an independent inquiry into abuse within the jehovah's witnesses, as the organization refuses to initiate it.

@doubter that is a misrepresentation of the truth. The ARC had considerable power evidenced by the fact that they obtained secret records that were kept secret from virtually everyone. They had the power to force Geoffrey Jackson and others to testify. Finally, 1600+ cases were reported to the police!

Doubter you are from your father the devil because you continue to lie and misrepresent reality
All the evidence, the TRUTH, was laid bare in the ARC. 1600 cases and not a SINGLE ONE was reported to the police.
If you think that Holland is any different than Australia, you're kidding yourself. We know that every branch in this Org takes their direction from MOTHER in New York headquarters.
From the ARC's final findings

Jehovah's Witnesses: shame and domination
by john.prestor ini want to suggest something that i've been ruminating on for a while now.
that involves the possibility that when jehovah's witnesses look for "sheep-like ones" what they're actually looking for is this: those who will allow themselves to be dominated (get rid of things that god "hates," accept the movement's beliefs without protest, not check into the movement's history) and those who are willing to be shamed (letting jehovah's witnesses into their homes when doing so is looked down upon in secular society, talking with them on the street when everyone else avoids them).. i say this because from what i observed at the kingdom halls i attended in the course of gathering data for my research i saw:.
-frequent shaming: jehovah's witnesses must do more to be acceptable to god, they are "good for nothing slaves," they are spared through armageddon by jehovah's "undeserved kindness," etc.

I agree the life of a J-Dub is full of shame. You can never do enough or be pure enough.
People who ask tough questions or have some self-esteem get filtered out right away.

Pioneers, Prayers and Pills
by Wake Me Up Before You Jo-Ho inlooking back on my two decades as a jehovah’s witness, i’ve come to realize how the constant theme of endurance is playing a detrimental role on the individual's psyche.. jehovah’s witnesses have become far too good at keeping going.
they’re experts at surrendering to the demands of the watchtower, living up to what’s expected of them, and getting on with the priorities that those in power have defined and imposed upon them.
they keep showing up, presenting themselves a dutiful pioneer or ministerial servant.

Struggling to Live a Lie
by Addison0998 init’s been very difficult, much more than i first anticipated to live a lie, (be pimo and a regular active member) i still live with my parents but i plan on moving out at the end of the year, so i really need to keep it together.
but i think people are starting to get suspicious that something is up.
i’ve stopped commenting, going on service all the time, talking at the door, and occasionally voicing something, such as a question that no one has a good answer for, that makes people think, but ahah, thinking is dangerous and wrong so that is suspicious of course.

Just tell people you are depressed, always worked for me. When I was still PIMO I knew I wouldn't last more than a year. So I set a date in my head when I would stop going to meetings. That light at the end of tunnel kept me alive till it was time to cut off the J-dub experience (tm)
