Do you condemn the Society's no-blood policy and still do not DONATE BLOOD?
by nicolaou init's your decision to make.
it would be as wrong of this community to insist everyone donate blood as it is of the cult to insist otherwise.

I checked with our local blood bank. I'm not eligible until I stop being allergic to everything and can get off from my antihistimine.
My son has donated regularly, though, ever since he reached the legal age limit.

Ever had the "privilege" of ...
by Frequent_Fader_Miles in... attending an international convention?
.
was it a total waste of time and resources, or did you actually gain something from the experience?
-
Cicatrix
Yes. The only thing I got out of it was the "privilege" of getting to see some of the other attendees in their native garb, which was pretty cool. There was a group from the Czech Republic, and I wondered if any of them were my relatives (I have "dozens of cousins" over there I have yet to meet). But then I thought about my grandpa being an atheist, and decided probably not

Went off outside walmart.
by dogon ini was loading my purchase in my car yesterday when i saw out of the corner of my eye a 20 something man in suit and tie walk up to me and he was holding what i knew was a watchtower.. after 30 years of slavery and i was running late i went off on him, before he could even open his mouth i said, i was part of your cult for 30 years before i left.
he asked what made me leave, i told him that if when christ came invisibly to earth in 1914 and saw russell and his little group of bible students were the only people who had it right and so gave him authority over his earthly preaching work, why would you be disfellowshiped for teaching anything russell tought?
if the bible says that a person who predicts something to happen and it does not come to pass he is a false profit and the society had not been right on one thing, i told him i lived through [stay alive till 75] and knew many who sold their homes and had enough to live on just until 75 and again nothing happend, did he know that the second pres.

Hi Dogon,
Don't know if this will help or not, but the emotional reaction of a former JW whom I encountered at the door actually helped me a few years later when I exited (although at that time I was in full program mode and clueless). It wasn't really her words that remained in my memory, it was her palpable pain. Her HUMAN reaction to the horror of being in an authoritative cult for most of her life. In contrast to the squelched emotions of my "brothers and sisters," it was like spring rain to my dying authentic self.

The advanced beings of the planet Yehovah will not like that very much. They expressly forbade the creation of religions in the first commandment, which was altered by humans to hide its true meaning

They even mention the Great Pyramid, and claim that religion is a snare and racket (well, not exactly in those words)
