Heaven ( and "hell") may simply be parallel universes in different dimensions.
So that is where Islamic martyrs go to get their 72 virgins. Christians must join Jesus in a different one, I guess.
hi there, i don't claim this is true, it just came to me just now, perhaps you can point out any logical errors etc i've made or any other conclusions?.
.
there may be or may not be a god.. there is definately a universe.. the universe may have been created by god or may have come into existance of it's own accord.. neither the universe nor god can come into existance at a particular point in time as there was no time prior to the universe - it didn't exist.. only at the universe's creation did time begin therefore god never existed for a certain amount of time prior to it.. my conclusion is that god is the universe or the universe has always existed along with god?.

i'm pretty sure everyone here has been "counseled" with this little gem.
"oh sure, that does seem impractical" or "yes, brother headup-hisass shouldn't have done that.......but you must remember that we are dealing with imperfect men.".
few responses insult your intelligence as much as the above statement does.
It is all part of the control structure, those in positions of authority can't be questioned. "Imperfect men" is just a slippery way of covering up the double standards. I think the "power" given to elders goes to their head, the social status and authority corrupts them.
I know my own father has always been desperate to hold onto his elder position. Youngest sister was still living at home but said she wouldn't attend meetings anymore. Still a teen, he pawned her off on my oldest sister because they "couldn't handle her anymore". Before doing that, he went to their lawyers and wanted to know their rights for simply kicking her out. She's not a bad kid...just a typical teenager. Saving his elder ass is all he was doing.

Ahhh Joanie. What were you talking about again?
last night, i watched an r rated movie that featured violence.
at least 30 people were shot in the first 45 min of the movie.. while i was in and an elder, i watched r rated movies all the time just didn't talk about it.
so how many of you watched r rated movies even though "mother" said not to?.
So, horror movies are on the top of my list of things to avoid, even as an exjw.
I like a good 'ol pyschological scary flick, that can accomplish freaking you out without resorting to shock and gore tactics. Have no use for slasher type films...Saw, Texas Chainsaw, Friday the 13th, etc.
The Shining, Silence of the Lambs, even the original Blair Witch were some good ones.

Yeah. Particularly remember staying up late to watch The Shining. Think I was about 15...scared the bejesus out of me. Also recall sleeping over at a JW friend's house and his parents let us watch Robocop. That was cool, no way in hell that would happen at home.
Hell no. You'd have to wheel me in like Hannibal Lecter to get me near a kingdom hall again.
how well is this territory being covered?.
how many on here (active jws excluded) received an invitation?.
Well I was glad I hadn't received any.......until this morning. Buggers put one in my mailbox.
Ripped it up, and thought about taping to the KH door. But nah...too much work.
.
anybody else as shocked as i when you tasted them?.
They make as much sense as a Meat Milk Shake..
Outlaw...actually you might have something there. Mmmmm...meat milk shake...
i think this was an uplifting and courageous video made by apple employees.
big thumbs up to apple for their courage in embracing their lgbt employees in this way.
as part of the it gets better campaign to end suicide among lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered youth, employees at apple have created a video with their stories about coming out and overcoming adversity, offering a rare glimpse into the personal lives of employees of the notoriously secretive company.. .
Just seen this graphic...
ricky rocks.
