Were you ever DF'd? For what and how long?
by QuestioningEverything ini was df'd when i was 20 or so for fornication.
i got reinstated when i was 24. i had a son during that time and i was worried about us if we didn't get back to the fold and 'protection' of the organization.

Yep, DF'd for fornicatin'. But it was a short term, April to early September if I recall....less than 6 months.
Didn't start my JC out good with the comment "It is a free country, you know I don't have to be here." That drew some head tilts.

Hey all, I was out watching the game. Congrats to the Bruins...and Tim Thomas - I like that guy..my age! Boston was clearly the better team. They showed up for every game. Vancouver just didn't have the backbone to show up in Boston.
Party on Charlie and Talesin! Poopsie....well, see you next year!

magazine supply reduction
by agent zero inat the meeting tonight was read a letter to all congregations in canada.
it explained that since most publishers end up with left-over public edition magazines that didn't get placed at the end of each month, they will now no longer continue to have an individual magazine order per publisher.
instead, the entire congregation's supply of service edition magazines will be in a stack at the back of the kh, and they are to be taken according to need, with whatever is left over after service to be put back in the stack.

Hey agent...think I recall seeing something like that on a thread here months ago. Perhaps it started in the US first, and now happening in Canada?

by RayPublisher injust curious as to the best way to do it.
most new cell phones record audio, but that would leave with you when you are dismissed.

Wasting one's life on an ancient fantasy
by Nickolas ini could not help but think of my devout witness wife when i saw this in yesterday's funny pages:.
it is reminiscent of something she said awhile back about being restored to all the glories of youth when the new system comes.
from my non-theist perspective this is a sad example of escapism.

Good post, Nickolas. That cartoon made me think of this Douglas Adams quote:
"Imagine a puddle waking up one morning and thinking, "This is an interesting world I find myself in — an interesting hole I find myself in — fits me rather neatly, doesn't it? In fact it fits me staggeringly well, must have been made to have me in it!"
This is such a powerful idea that as the sun rises in the sky and the air heats up and as, gradually, the puddle gets smaller and smaller, it's still frantically hanging on to the notion that everything's going to be alright, because this world was meant to have him in it, was built to have him in it; so the moment he disappears catches him rather by surprise." -

Is there a correlation between personality type and leaving the WT?...
by Tuesday inon facebook tonight there was a post asking to take a personality test, in posting the personality tests a trend started emerging that certain personality types seem to leave around the same time.. i came out as an intj which is introverted intuitive thinking judging.
which a good paragraph describing it was:.
intjs apply (often ruthlessly) the criterion "does it work?

INTP
Faded from 26-28ish.
Started with doubts about legitimacy of the bible and existence of the god of the bible. Hypocrisy within the KH gave me the push to fade. Had no specific plan, just didn't want part of it anymore.
That, and hated wearing ties. Feels like being choked, which is symbolic of the Org slowly choking the life out of you.
