i learned about y'all in the second grade, and fell in love with your beautiful land.. my geography book was filled with pictures of your wheat fields, lakes, rivers, and smiling people.. one of the ancestors, an aunt of hank aaron, used to regale us with wonderful stories of her visits to your country: the cleanliness, the warmth and friendliness of the people, and the lack of overt racial prejudice.. later on, i read about the underground railroad.

my heart swelled with admiration and respect as i found out how your country welcomed fugitive slaves.. my resolve is to visit y'all one of these fine days and see for myself what i've been told.

my little jw daughter and her dad have been there, and they both agree that canada is a land of freedom and opportunity.. to the canucks on this here forum, i salute you, as you only reinforce what i've been told about y'all.

O Canada. Good thread Syl....I do love living in this vast country. Like Vamp and Outlaw I live in British Columbia...on the west coast with great views of the Pacific. Grew up in the far north but have been here for about 10 years and don't plan on leaving anytime soon.

Put the earbuds in and tried to listen to this at work...put me to sleep. Good treatment for insomnia.

Ah the old conventions...remember trying to make it look like I was taking notes but really just trying to take a nap. Then your head would bob and wake you up. Hated that. Just wanted to sleeeeep.

when does a scientific perspective become as tenuous as a religious one?.

light the blue touch paper and stand well back............... i know there are some historic threads but it would be interesting see the views of the current (overlapping) generation of jwners.. btw just leaving the office be back in about an hour.

but I don't think it has been proven in the accepted sense of the word.

Nickolas...wondering if you wouldn't mind elaborating on that. Granted I'm early in studying evolution but from what I've read so far, Dawkins and Coyne, the theory of evolution is as rock solid, and accepted, of any scientific theory. Perhaps you meant something different...
