My Husband gave an elder the "finger" yesterday
by Found Sheep indave the elder is actually a nice guy, he fixed the walls of our house, took six months!!!!.
anyway my ,never been a jw husband, was driving home and saw him and all the pain that i have gone through went through his head and he though what right did this guy have?
he spent six months comming to our house as he pleased and then to turn around and shunn my wife!!!!.

Did you fake underlining the WT?
by shepherd ini read on another topic " i remember when i used to carry microphones years ago in the jw cult- only about 30 % had their wt's pre-studied, the rest just wing it i truly believe" and it reminded me that people will assume you are not familiar with the material if you have not underlined, and that there will always be those who observe the lack of ink and consider you must be unprepared (and so 'weaker' than them).. many times i used to fake prestudy just for that reason.
its easy to do, underline a random sentence or 2 in each paragraph or the sited scripture.
you can wizz through an entire article in 3 minutes....did anyone else do that?.

I know the feeling, Terry. Regularly I bump into JWs that I know and used to be friends with. Rarely does one of them say a kind hello. Most quickly pretend they didn't see you or turn away as if I'm Medusa. Others give a smug look of condenscending judgement.
The thing that pisses me off each time is how high they are on themselves. They are so certain they are a superior people, everyone else is bird food. And I realize I used to be the same way. Which pisses me off even more. IF only they knew how wrong they were.

I'm new here..... Studying with the Witnesses
by PenelopePaige inhi- i just wanted to say that i have been checking the website out for a few weeks and have read some horror stories and some sad ones.
but i have been studying with witnessess for about six months and can't help but feel that they're completely sincere and maybe even, the true religion.
i love the watchtower and awake and to me, none of that seems crazy.

Hi Penelope...welcome to the forum. I'll repeat the best advice already given: Run for your life.
As for your strange light experience...sizemik made a good point with his story, I'd suggest reconsidering all angles. BUT if you are convinced it was something supernatural, it certainly was not what the JWs refer to as demons. The JW description of demons don't put on light shows, they are evil and only perform diabolical acts. A far more interesting conclusion to jump to would be alien life. How fun...contact.
Good luck with ending your bible study. Remember the moment because that is when you are taking back control of your life.

Hey Nickolas...I'll have to agree with the general consensus that it can't be blamed on that visit or circumstance alone.
I'll share my own experience: I left the JWs thru fading and also ended up getting divorced from my JW wife. I have since remarried last summer. But before doing so I lived with my now wife for 4 years out of wedlock. During those 4 years we visited her parents frequently. And every single visit we slept in different rooms as part of my wife's parents house rules. They are not religious at all.
It was a strange experience to leave the Dubs and face that situation. Didn't "worldy" people not have such silly rules? But I accepted that they were simply old-fashioned and that was the way it was. After getting married last summer, we visited again for Christmas. This time, we shared a room. Finally that felt normal.
