give the talk---but talk about anything--your job--a hobby--or any old crap.
whats the worst that can happen? you will probably find no-one will notice anyway--least of all the guy who gave you the assignment. his mind will be elsewhere.
i work with the school overseer so he'll be with me all day before the meeting...so being 'sick' isn't an option.
this really isn't like me to weasel my way out of something....but i've been ridiculously depressed lately and honestly i just don't have it in me to do anything let alone put a talk together.
everytime i do one it takes allot out of me and let's just say the well is pretty dry.

just say you have a bone in your foot---it will take a while for the penny to drop.
i figured he was going to arrange the committee and try to get me kicked out after the whole "big pile of books" labelled "take this shit".. well his call made me realize that more and more people ... elders included no longer take this religion seriously.
after he told me he heard what happened he actually laughed and said i would never expect that.
he then told me that it is apparent that i no longer want to be connected to the organization.
maybe your fishing buddy is fishing--for a job
i find it interesting that the 7/15 watchtower will be studied from september 2-29th and then the annual meeting will be exactly one week after.
.
it strikes me as an effort to emphasize the fds and their role before a big announcement.. siam .
maybe the GB are going to give god an ultimatum about armageddon---either piss or get off the pot
seriously , in plain simple language that the most thick headed jw would understand.. and what examples would you use.. smiddy.
if i ever get another visit--i had 1 in 10 years-----i want to ask the caller if they believe ONLY jw's will survive armageddon---see if they answer--or wriggle.
in my old congregation, everyone seems clean.
mostly chaste courtship, kingdom hall wedding, blah blah.. well there are lots of cases of fondling but they were soon forgotton.
when my husband and i confessed to sex before marriage, the elders were disgusted.
i do think that back in the 1960's--those who did fess up to premarital sex were usually in the family way when they did. they felt the need to face a possible d/f'ing so they could repent and get back in before the big A arrived.
i wonder if these days most young singles either think A is a long way off--if they really believe it at all. either way--with intelligent use of birth control--they can play around---and who's ever going to know--? except jehovah --of course..but he learned to keep his mouth shut too.

we got married at 20--in 1968----both technically virgins---honeymooned at a national assembly in sheffield UK. there was a talk / drama all about pre-marital conduct. whoops--red faces lol.
but it was generally undeerstood beforehand that anything was overlooked--except penetration.
they are all worst
i typed in my name, password and the captcha, expecting to see my name come up in the top right corner and what i actually saw was someone else's name!
(the name was another member of this board).
i looked at it for a few seconds feeling a bit puzzled and not sure what to do about it and as i looked it automatically changed (whithout me doing anything) back to my own name.. has anyone else had this happen to them?
it might be the demunz
the rest of us should remember that we are guests here and should mind our manners accordingly..
so--if its still a discussion forum for jw's-----do you seriously think the watchtower society would encourage its members to use it?
