didnt the ancient hebrew language read "backwards"--ie--from right to left?.
so yhwh--could be hwhy---which sounds a bit like hughie.. in any case --i think it sounds nicer than jehovah---that name sounds like an angry god--the kind who just might destroy 99.9% of the population--just to prove a point..

Terrible conduct by congregation Elders in hospital room !
by RULES & REGULATIONS inmy uncle was rushed to the hospital last tuesday with severe stomach pain.
(he was diagnosed with colon cancer one year ago.
the doctors, family,and my uncle decided against colon surgery.

i must be missing something with all this prayer thing. what were they praying for? divine intervention to hopefully keep the person referred to alive? hardly likely -is it?
or is there somthing not quite the full ticket about all this resurrection business. isnt the person involved guaranteed a resurrection anyway?--if you choose to believe in all that.
so--why the need to pray?--isnt this all vaguely religious?

WTS position on DF'ed family members
by harleybear inwhat is the wts going to do if a non df'ed individual is the primary care provided for say an elderly family member or a handicapped child or parent?
many of us are in the position that without our assisting these folks they would have no where to turn.
does not the bible admonish a responsiblity to these loved ones??

my situation is the opposite. i'm 32 + years DA'd--and proud of it. my wife has never been a jw.
my dad--91 years old next b/d--is very active--gives talks-- goes doorknocking--in all weather--used to be an elder.
he never shunned me.
now he lives with me 4 days a week--and is likely to get more dependant on me. i'm all hes got.
what are they going to do--DF him?

Clear distinction of people on JWN

here is what i have learned:.
you have about 6 types of people posting on jwn, they all fit into a profile.. #1 you have people like me that ran the race, exemplified conduct while in the jw cult and learned through observation that there was a severe disconnect between truth, and the jw cult's statements.

i suppose i was a 10. i was bought up in it by a fanatical mom.--who really converted big time. i got dipped at 14 knowing nothing--just to please her. as a mid teenager i made the mistake of listening to district servant RON DRAGE spouting forth about us kids becoming pioneers. i took that route.
it was only in my early 20's--with my first kid on the way---that i stopped and really thought the whole blood issue through. it was then i realised i had never believed in the great barman anyway----just a myth--created to controll the masses. so--no belief in a god--errr--so how on earth could i be one of his witnesses?

by wha happened? ina month ago i read that gas might hit $2.50 a gallon.
i laughed.
well super is now 2.49 in los angeles.
