wasnt there a saying---back in the day---"spoon in june for a baby boy" ??--or some such thing---either way--i always understood it was a nice, polite word for intercourse. much nicer than forking.

My son was murdered today
by truman ini have been on this site daily, almost from its beginning, since i left the jws in 2001, but i have been more of a reader than a poster, as you can see from my post count.
i know few here know me, although i know many of you through reading your posts.
maybe it is not right to ask for support, when i generally stay quietly in the background of this forum, but i want only to speak a human misery of the deepest kind.

Why the name "Governing Body?"
by skeeter1 inthe krishna also use the term "governing body", and that struck me.. the koreshans, a defunct cult, also used the term "governing body" to describe an all woman council that lead their group.. governing body makes it sound all so official and unquestionable.
or, is it my upbringing that makes it so?.
from wiki .

surely "governing body" is well documented in the bible?--right there alongside "kingdom hall"--and disfellowship---------

What made you leave?
by CuriousUK inapologies if this has been discussed before, but i am really very interested in finding out why members here left their congregations for lives away from jw?.
was there a "lightbulb" moment where you just woke up one day and realised that you had been brainwashed?
or a slow realisation over time?

i had an interesting conversation with my JW dad the other day--about the charitable status--even he said it is WRONG in the UK that charities can claim back the tax paid by individual donors. he said his donations to the WTS should remain net--and not have the tax clawed back by the society.

marriage without affection/sex/touching
by zeb inyes thats my situation.
some where along the path of life the wt guilt trip was dumped on our marriage and we havent had sex for years.. anyone else?
the hearts and flowers and gifts and doing the cleaning, the house work and paying the daily accounts never being drunk on drugs playing the horses or screwing others yep its all there but nothing coming back due to the wt guilt trip.. they made so much of 'oral sex' and 'pornea' incorrectly quoted at that and ventured thereby into areas they were patently very ill equipped to comment on.

How Many Years have your JW Relatives Shunned You ?
by flipper ini felt with newer members coming on and other jw fence sitters lurking it might be a good thing to explain what many of us have had to go through in regards to being shunned, cut off, ostracized from our jw families in an unjust way .
whether we are dfed or inactive - many of us have shared this same fate and ill treatment.
for many of us- it makes us stronger, more firmly entrenched that the decision we made to exit the jehovah's witness organization was the correct decision as no organization that claims to be " christian " would ever commit such horrid atrocities or justify it !

i cut all ties to the watchtower at the end of 1980. within 3 years my daughter was old enough to start shunning me--she still does--we met once very briefly 4 years back. i never even recognised her. she has 4 daughters of her own. ive never met them--they only live 8 miles away.
2 years later my sons started to do the same. one stlll does--not seen him in 25 years--hes married and has a child.
but the good news is--my other son was d/f a couple of years back--and we are in contact--building bridges takes time.
dont you just love that religion
