  Your earliest doubt?

  this might be an unfair question for those who have been out of the organization for decades, but i'm wondering if any of you remember your earliest doubt -- maybe something odd that occurred to you as a kid (if you were a jw then).

  please try to limit to two doubts at the most :-).

  i think my first "doubt" was simply realizing that at the time of the flood, every animal that wasn't in the ark died (well, besides the fish, supposedly).

  in my late teens i knew i didnt believe in the idea of a real god--"the great bar man in the sky"---but my family--fiancee--all my friends--were jubs--i pioneered--became a servant---so i just swam with the tide.

  it was only when my wife was pregnant for the first time that i thought long and hard about the blood issue:

  no way would i object to a life saving transfusion if it was necessary---just to "obey" some bible directive?????

  that was the start of my journey out of the "truth"---yet i still feel sorry for those who have had to face the blood decision for real.

  Are JW'S "hated" in all the world? Or...are they considered IRRELEVANT?

  while it is true that jehovahs witnesses are hated and opposed in all the nations of the earth, this is in fulfillment of what was foretold to be an identifying mark of genuine worshipers of the one living and true god.

  all this "world hatred of witnesses" is simply hype from the watchtower bunch to maintain the persecution complex the die-hard dubs need to thrive on.

  in the UK most of the public dont even know the correct way to say "jehovah's witness"---usually leaving the 's off.

  incidentally--what does "jehovah's witness REALLY mean?---that the person is witness to the fact that the word "jehovah" is a man-made attempt to pronounce a word from ancient hebrew ?---that no-one knows how to pronounce!!

  i would have thought an almighty god would have made more of an effort in getting his real name widely known.

  i finally broke all connection with the cult in 1981---after dithering for 10 years. i was then 33.

  to any young persons reading this------walk away from it without a backward glance----you wont regret it. ive enjoyed 31 religion free years

  since then. no regrets whatsoever.

  just wondering if any of you ever knew any londoners with that surname.

  one of them moved around doing construction work at several european branches and eventually moved to the us.

  pm me if anyone wants and did know any of them.

  my first wife---a born-in----eventually remarried a much older man--his surname was palmer--from kent i think.

  he passed away earlier this year.
