i see the carts quite often now. next time--i'm going to take a photo on my phone---including whoever is attending it.
i will then ask them if they mind me posting the photo on JWN---just to see how they react.
i was out trolley witnessing today.
i specifically wanted to ask jws about holy spirit, and how it guides them.. i had someone with me as usual, so jws had to be polite and answer my questions.
as we approached the trolley, an elder from my kh was there, just recently moved in.

i have noticed that some of us are a bit too eager to label new posters as trolls.
while it is clear that there are some posters who just like to stir up trouble or are out and out apologists there are others who are witnesses starting to have genuine doubts and so ask questions but then when they see the responses the cognitive dissonance kicks in and they push back and argue with what they are being told.
this can lead to very negative reactions from jwn members and accusations that the person is a troll.
. I personally get annoyed when newcomers sign up and on day one spill out their life story without getting to know the site, the feel of the community, and the flow of the commenting process.
please bear in mind many newcomers will have lurked on here for months-----or even years in some cases. they will be wll aware of the site and its operation. then--when they feel ready to tell their story--they need to sign up to post.
might be a dumb question but who cares.... is there only one gb or is there one in each country?.
the GB isnt in GB ( Great Britain )
is coming and the elder wanted to set up a visit.
it's not like i wasn't warned.
there was a thread that talked about the push to call on inactive ones.. thanks to the heads up here, i knew the motive for the call.. i don't think i even know that eld.
if he calls again--tell him youre having money problems--and have no one else to turn to. ask him to lend you £/$????----see if he contacts you again.

i was labelled a troll when i first started posting---partly my fault for asking the wrong type of questions---but i got a real punch-up going on--quite funny at the time.
luckily--i had already met Cantleave and Nuggett in real life--and they vouchsafed my bad character.
how many of you have ever observed no votes in kingdom halls?
especially for spending on stuff?.
i've actually seen a few close votes but i is my experience unusual?
back in the day we ended up sharing a KH. the question of meeting days & times caused ructions. finally a vote was taken--lots of no's. the overseer wasnt the sharpest tool in the box--he simply announced--"carried unamimously"
my dad told me this story long time ago.
there was an long time elder that is never married.
he got caught going to brothel one day after a brother followed him there.
i recall from my youth an announcement at the cong-----we were having a visit by a brother from the London brothel.
it has been commented here that "soon" the do's will be history.
the co level will be "retired" at age 70 and the latest development was that the cobe can not serve after age 80. it would seem that there is a "cull" of top management.
in secular companys that would signal a radical change of directions ???.
ocean has put into words exactly how i was thinking.
by removing all the old guard--many congregations--having no young men willing or capable of eldership----will slowly fade in numbers--to a point where the WTS can step in--close the congregation--sell the KH--and pocket the cash. with far fewer old employees to support in their old age.
does anyone have the article written by the wt saying that the end would come in 1975?.
how did people back then come to this year?
i need this information becuase i was told, this was never literally written by the wt in any publication.. thanks.
i was a pioneer and a servant in the late 60's. we all lived and breathed 1975. i became apostate before 75---so waited with baited breath to see if i was right lol'
as for your question about 6000 years--its easy enough :---from now--back to christ---2000 years orgive or take a few. from christ back to adam--using the genealogy in the gospels---around 4000 years.
---that asumes adam isnt simply a myth.
then--to spice it up a bit--tack on christs milennial reign----and---wait for it----decide a creative day is 7000 years long--then you have the perfect recipe to sell a ton of 100% pure bullshit to a group of sad cases who want all their neighbours dead so they can steal their houses.
to my total astonishment, there is no mention whatsoever in the scriptures re jehovah's creative days being each of 7000 years duration.. nothing!.
zilch!.
...and yet the wt had this to say:.
going back to the mid/late 60's--the watchtower was soo hyped up on 1975 they were only to happy to cobble up any bits of bible verse to help prove their prophecy---the 7000 year day was central to it.
1975 is now dim history---so any connection with counting years is now quietly swept under the carpet.
