  Judge Orders Transfusion for Jehovah's Witness Girl with Cancer

  i'm so glad i never needed one as a child.

  even as an adult i still believed everything taught, but i think if faced with an early death, i would have caved and had a transfusion if it was deemed necessary for my survival.. i think even though the parents of this girl gave the standard jw response when questioned, i can't help but think they must feel at the very least, a little relieved that the decision is now out of their hands.

  Definition of Atheist

  i've noticed on so many threads people misrepresenting what and atheist is.

  Psychology of God

  in some of my spare time i like to read and research things pertaining to psychology.

  i found and interesting article by michael shermer that i thought i might share as i personally found it quite reasonable in the way it was put forward.

  and then follows with theso have a read if you're interested.. behavior genetics and godin one study of 53 pairs of identical twins reared apart and 31 pairs of fraternal twins reared apart, niels waller, thomas bouchard, and their colleagues in the minnesota twins project looked at five different measures of religiosity and found that the correlations between identical twins were typically double those for fraternal twins, a finding suggesting that genetic factors account for approximately half of the observed variance in their measures of religious beliefs.6.

  Process of Disfellowshipping

  i'm unsure if this has actually been discussed before, but i often wondered about the process of disfellowshipping.

  i know a lot here have been affected by it for many different reasons.

  i'm writing this from the perspective that some who read this believe in the bible as gods word and that jesus words and teachings are what they are trying to emulate.. the wts process is primarily to hold a judicial committee overseen by at least 3 elders in a closed room and the final decision is made by them.. matthew 18: 15-17.

  i have actually followed this forum for over a year now.
