The only thing people can do is warn people against this money sucking, life taking cult, through technology and word of mouth.

My JW Mom. Master of spin and denial.
by Open mind ini moved away from the area where i grew up many years ago.
i'm 3rd gen jw and so is my wife, but we're both awakened now.
for the last couple decades, i've periodically received updates from my jw mom on how various people in her part of the world are doing.

On A Scale Of 1 to 10 How Much Knowledge Does A Jehovah's Witness Have About Their Religion?
by minimus inyears (many decades) ago, most jws knew what their religion taught.
they could go toe to toe with a minister or priest and make some good points.. i believe today's witness knows little about most of the convoluted teachings and revisions of the "truth".
yesteryear's witnesses got a 9/10.

No disrespect to the believers on JW.net, but I've been doing research on the history of christianity, and wow. Why dont most christian do research on the history of their own religion? I dont understand how you can call yourself a christian but not do research on the history of your religion.

Watchtower, 2014 and Crooklyn properties
by Alfred inas we approach 2014, the wt appears to be gearing up for what could potentially be the biggest turning point in their 135-year history.
this new york times article talks about a "complicated formula" involving at least two wt properties slated for eventual residential "re-zoning" which will generate significant property tax revenue needed for the brooklyn park project.... http://www.nytimes.com/2011/08/02/nyregion/housing-deal-for-brooklyn-bridge-park-ensures-parks-completion.html?_r=1.
if anyone comes across any details of this "complicated formula", please do share.... it appears that 2014 will be a very interesting year....
