The Surprising Faith Of 8 American Presidents... # 6 is interesting!
by koolaid-man inhttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/darrin-grinder/the-presidents-and-their-_b_1283210.html.
6. dwight d. eisenhower.
eisenhower may have been instrumental in bringing "under god" to the pledge of allegiance and making "in god we trust" the national motto, but he was reared in a religious tradition that does not allow its adherents to take oaths of office or to recite the pledge of allegiance--the jehovah's witnesses (a religion/denomination born in the united states, as was mormonism).

@ Razziel
That excatly what people dont get, especially Jehovah's Witnesses. Its fine if you want to believe in god and have a religion, thats fine, just dont allow it to make you lose all common sense. Have some logic and balance, thats all I'm saying.

More anti-apostate rhetoric from the Watchtower - are they running scared?
by cedars inyes, the may 15th watchtower is now available for download from jw.org.. the final study article, on page 26, directs another salvo at apostates - and warns witnesses not to try arguing with them on the internet:.
indeed, we ought to move as far away from wrongdoing as possible and not see how close we can get to it without being overcome by sin.
for instance, we need to guard against succumbing to apostasy, a sin that would make us unfit to glorify god.

More damage control. Its what any organized religion does to keep membership and to try to stop the high retention rates. Its what any religious group does, no matter how big or small. And of course-the bible and god himself is backing them.

Are Jehovah's Witnesses (and most theist in general) SELFISH? Or are apostates the selfish ones...
by Joliette ini was thinking about this at work...for years i wasted time feeling gulity because i wasnt living my life the way that jehovah wanted me to live it.
now that i have researched what mind control means, i've come to the conclusion that jw's are very selfish.
there is this girl that i grew with here in milwaukee that is a musician now.

I was thinking about this at work...for years I wasted time feeling gulity because I wasnt living my life the way that Jehovah wanted me to live it. Now that I have researched what mind control means, I've come to the conclusion that JW's are very selfish. There is this girl that I grew with here in Milwaukee that is a musician now. EVERYTIME I see her parents, they always say to me: she's out in the world, she's spiritually dead, she's not doing what Jehovah wants her to do. Is it that she's not doing what 'Jehovah' wants her to do, or is she not doing what YOU GUYS want her to do. (Most) Jehovah's Witnesses are the most self centered people on earth. They live in their own world. They think that everyone is suppose to do what they are doing. The funny thing is, is that most Jehovah Witnesses think the same thing about apostates.
Just a thought, but what do you guys thinks? I'm not saying that every single JW's and theist are selfish, but just overall.
