FYI: Something is going on in Brazil that's interesting
by AndersonsInfo inposted on www.christianwitnesses.com.
the federal public ministry at ceara, brazil, on july 14, 2011 filed a civil action against the religion of jehovah's witnesses in the 8th federal court for practicing religious discrimination against former members.
prosecutor nilce cunha rodrigues has taken on official representation of sebastian oliveira (ramos) who, after being expelled from the religion was discriminated against by colleagues, friends and relatives, including his mother, in accord with norms of the jehovahs witnesses who are headed by a governing body of the watchtower society.

For those who do not believe in the Bible: Why don't you?
by Chemical Emotions ini don't believe in the bible either, but i'm just curious as to why others don't.
ridiculous misogyny and mass murder by a petty little god are two reasons for me.

Band on the run: They are no longer a NGO. So calling up the UN asking if they are will get them to answer "No." They should ask if they've ever been a NGO, not if they currently are.

JYD: This JW hatred of facts seems to have spread to my wife as well. She told me that she doesn't want me to bother her with facts or evidence.
Evidently, the truth is not backed by facts or evidence.. only our atheist, apostate lies have their basis in facts and evidence.

Being an NGO is not a requirement to access the library. Blatant lie. There is a special LIBRARY PASS for granting people or organizations access to the libraries of the UN. You can find letters from the UN stating this at jwfacts.com
Here is a nice quote from a statement by the UN (http://web.archive.org/web/20090126152929/http://un.org/dpi/ngosection/pdfs/watchtower.pdf)
"By accepting association with DPI, the organization agreed to meet criteria for association, including support and respect of the principles of the Charter of the United Nations and commitment and means to conduct effective information programmes with its constituents and to a broader audience about UN activities."
Wachtower June 1 1991, page 17:
" ?If Christendom had sought peace with Jehovah?s King, Jesus Christ, then she would have avoided the coming flash flood.?Compare Luke 19:42-44. 10 However, she has not done so. Instead, in her quest for peace and security, she insinuates herself into the favor of the political leaders of the nations? this despite the Bible?s warning that friendship with the world is enmity with God. "
" A recent book gives an idea when it states: ?No less than twenty-four Catholic organizations are represented at the UN. Several of the world?s religious leaders have visited the international organization. "
So what was actually said in this 'recent book' ( New Genesis? Shaping a Global Spirituality by Robert Muller (1982) chapter 6) ?
"All major world religions are accredited to the United Nations as non-governmental organizations. For example, no less than twenty-four Catholic organizations are represented at the UN.?"
Conclusion: When you are an NGO, you seek peace and security from a worldly organization instead of from Jesus, thereby making yourself an enemy of God. Unless of course you are the WTS.. then it's all good.
After the WTS became a NGO, it suddenly published positive articles about the UN, instead of condemning the organization like they used to before. See Awake! 1991 September 8 p.10 , Watchtower 1995 October 1 p.3,7, Awake! 1998 November 22 and Awake! 2000 December 8.
Since the UN requires NGOs to support their ideals and have information programs to tell people about the UN, being an NGO forced the WTS to write these articles. The UN directly influenced what the WTS wrote in the watchtower and awake.

I woke up when I started studying the bible more intensively to be better at FS bible ping pong. Being blessed with family study evening, I had the opportunity to really dig in and be the best JW ever. I tried to look at the bible the way a householder would, and without realizing it, I took my rose-colored indoctrinated cult member glasses off. Soon I realized the bible was a bunch of crap. Took me a year to build up the courage to leave.

Jehovah's Witnesses are a class A mind controlling organisation!
by TimothyT inmy dad shown me a very interesting article on wikipedia about an american psychiatrist who drew some very interesting conclusions on how to control people's minds.
see if they sound familiar!.
milieu control the control of information and communication.mystical manipulation the manipulation of experiences that appear spontaneous but in fact were planned and orchestrated.demand for purity the world is viewed as black and white and the members are constantly exhorted to conform to the ideology of the group and strive for perfection.confession sins, as defined by the group, are to be confessed either to a personal monitor or publicly to the group.sacred science the group's doctrine or ideology is considered to be the ultimate truth, beyond all questioning or dispute.loading the language the group interprets or uses words and phrases in new ways so that often the outside world does not understand.doctrine over person the member's personal experiences are subordinated to the sacred science and any contrary experiences must be denied or reinterpreted to fit the ideology of the group.dispensing of existence the group has the prerogative to decide who has the right to exist and who does not.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/robert_jay_lifton.

Christians used to be sure of what they believed...
by THE GLADIATOR inrecent events on this board have got me thinking, which is no small feat.
christians are arguing more with each other than with atheists.. christians used to be sure of what they believed solid in their faith and certain of its foundation cornerstone and what he was called.
only non-believers cast doubt and were crushed under a mountain of bible passages that were heaped upon them.

Apart from Christians then and now, what about JW 2.0. If you ask them something difficult at the door, they have to go back, do some research (i.e. ask the almighty WTLib or the elders) and come back to you. They can't think for themselves. They don't even know what they believe themselves, yet they knock on your door to convert you. Why can't you just take the magazines, you annoying householder.

If somebody dresses up in strange clothing for a certain situation, it's not very weird that people might laugh. If somebody hangs around gas stations in a clown suit and tries to promote clownism to me, I might laugh as well.
BTW, why is it wrong for a man to humiliate a woman? What about men humiliating men, or women humiliating women? Pretty sexist if you ask me. In my view humiliating people is something to be avoided, wether they are male or female, unless they're asking for it.
